iRacing

yeah I didnt think it would be as simple as just the car number.

but is the car number more relevant on a race with all the same car???

Yes, it is. Your car number is decided by your iRating. The highest iRating drivers gets number 1, the second highest gets number 2, etc... In a single car race it just helps you make a rough judgement of the skill level of those around you.

Haven't fired up iRacing for quiet a while, was interested in a few practice laps on the NL-AMS server farm. However, I'm seeing a 100% packet loss and the only realistic server farm is the US.

Can anyone else see it or connect to it?

I haven't tried myself. I do remember a few people on iRacing complaining that it was worse then the US farm for latency though so it does seem that there's something up with it.

I ping around 60 to the Dutch server and 150 to the US server, but that's because Sky refuse to put me on fastpath. Dutch server is fine for me, it just doesn't get used for official races.

okkkkkkk first radical race and first lap massive pile up on the carousel no way to avoid, i managed to get to the pits and got to be in there 10 mins, im tying this post as i sit and wait for my car to be fixed..

getting abit fed up of the muppets now...

edit- turned out to be a good race abit boring racing on my own for a lot of it but came back to 6th i started in last...

Just finished my first Radical race, started from the pits as I didn't trust myself/the rest of the people who were too lazy to quality :p

Drove nice and consistently to finish 8th with 0 inc \o/

Set a new PB by a while 2 thousandths with a 1:05.583, but more importantly my average over the entire race was a 1:05.960, I'm pretty damn chuffed with that tbh :)

i just had a epic radical race aswell SKILL.

started 22nd finished 5th battling the whole race with the guy in front called rafal, i got +24 SR and +98 IR aswell really happy with that race...

Sounds good, no real close racing for me, the downside to starting at the back rather than around people of similar pace I guess...

It doesn't seem the best track for actual side by side racing though, which is off as the classic boot layout is pretty awesome for that in the skippy.

Plus my lack of knowledge of the car makes me wary of pushing too hard around others, but that'll come eventually :)

yeah i was like that in my first race in it, but in the 2nd i just relaxed and went with the flow and didnt make any daft moves and it worked out well...

really enjoying driving this car, you have to be so gentle on turn in now tho or you will just loose the back end...

oh my days i joined the 11.30pm race, sat on the grid in 2nd to last and lights went green and the guy in front of me never set off, i tried to get on the way but i clipped him.

7 mins in the pits, but i set off after 3 to see what the car was like...bad move...

Can you gift a subscription to a friend who does not have an iRacing account?

I cannot see any way of doing it as it would negate their sign up system which uses the billing details to verify the account holder.

Don't think there's a limit, but to get the high numbers like .71 it'll be because you went over a boundary, basically if you're at 2.99 and earn 0.02, you'll actually get 0.42 (or 0.52, can never remember the bonus), basically this is to make it so you don't flip from one side to the other of a whole number.

It does work the other way though, so if you're at 3.01 and you lose 0.02, that actually turns into a 0.42/0.52 loss to drop you well below 3...
