I'm also loving the jetta.

had great first race around Daytona road circuit till some one spun on the first corner and decided to jejoin the race as I was approching the corner, as you can guess it didn't go well.

still fun tho I got back in the top 10 to 7th place...

the bodnar cable has defo helped me breaking...

but when I press the throttle or break full I have to press it quite hard to get the bar in the bottom left of the screen to go all the way up past the little black line??? if I just press it normal as I did before I have to press it a little bit extra hard...

I've calibrated it in windows and the game...

Try changing the 'Brake force curve factor' or whatever its called, it suggests different values for load-cell and normal springy pedals.

I had the same problem, use this:

http://www.leobodnar.com/products/DFPG25conn/Calibration-DFP-G25.exe

Try calibrating the pedals with the Bodnar tool above. Push the brake and accelerator down to your usual comfortable level. Not all the way down hard if that makes sense. I also calibrated the clutch with only a small amount of travel to make it behave more like a clutch. Instead of having to be at full travel to change gear.

It will write all the data to the Bodnar box so you never have to do it again.

Hey, I have been trying to find that, cannot find it linked on the site anywhere? Have I missed something obvious?

I might take part in that. I haven't had any time to practice though so It'll depends on how I get on in a practice session to be honest!

Oh and @johny dolan: I gave my pedals a quick clean with a can of compressed air which fixed the problem :D I've bought the tools needed to give them a proper clean which I think I'll do at the weekend. Chuffed that I don't have to go without a wheel for weeks.

yeah ive only just done a few laps of the track for tomorrow, it seems easy tbh tho i dont know what a fastish lap is, im still new to iracing ive not been on it 2 weeks yet...

If the pot keeps playing up after lots of cleaning you can always swap out the pot for the one in the clutch pedal as that one gets less use than the others.

55.5 was my fastest after a few laps, so not so bad for a newbie...yeah see you there...

struggling a tad with the first corner at watkins glen classic in the radical, loosing time there...

Yeah, it's odd coming from cars where you could just bounce over the kerbs no issue to having to be very careful around that kerb, I find the best line is to bounce over the inside kerb more than I would usually and at most get 1/2 the car onto the outside kerb, but I'm not perfect there yet but it means a huge amount for the lap time.

I'm struggling more with the carousel at the end of the straight, can take it fine but no idea what the best line is, can brake late but I get a bit sideways and don't always sort that out before the exit (although I've done some beautiful slides all the way through now :p) or brake a bit earlier to ensure the exit...

Still, getting more consistent now if not quicker, PB up slightly to 1:05.585 iirc, but did 7-8 laps in the 1:05's which was good, just need to up that to ~35-40 laps in the 1:05's :p

yeah the first corner at Watkins I try come wide as poss on entry then try get a good bit of the car on the inside curb, but I seem to miss the right breaking point a lot of the time which sends me too wide on exit or I spin.

the carousel I seem to be able to do quite well, I just go wide on entry turn in at speed then break to bring it in close to inside curb and hold the inside in 4th gear till you feel the grip then foot to the floor for a wide exit...

1.05.9 my fastes in practice with my average time the low 1.06's, I forget that I've only been in Iracing for 2 weeks I've still got a lot of learning to do...

I use auto blip an the paddles on the back of wheel will this be loosing me time over peeps that use full manual???

If anything I'm too conservative for the braking into T1, there's a change in the colour of the surface around the 3 board iirc?, I brake 'just before' hitting that, with the skippy I brake on that and I think you can with the Radical too, if not a bit later, but I never have a problem under braking for that corner at least :)

I've got two methods for the carousel, one is like you, the other I dive in way hotter on the brakes and diamond/double-apex it, they both seem about the same I think, possibly slightly worse exit with the diamond approach (I guess might be useful in races when you're trying to catch up with someone but got the draft already)

I've got auto clutch and blip turned off generally, do you still have to have auto clutch on to use the blipping? If so then you're almost definitely losing time there, but the manual blipping on this car is a bit more awkward than some others, I occasionally fail to downshift

let the revs drop a little before the downshift and give a little blip on the gas this is what i do in the lotus though ive not driven the Radical id think the same thing would work.

You can brake very late if you dont lock the brakes and then you trail the brake all the way around to the apex of the corner lifting the brake pressure gently off as you turn keeping on just enought pressure so they dont lock.

I also leave a little gas on with the brake to help steady the car.

Watch some fast lap replays so you can see how the pedals are being used.

The secret to a fast lap is exit speed from the apex so aslong as the car is on the correct possition right on the apex and you get the power down hard and fast the laps with always be quick late braking is the icing on the cake if you can do it but its exit speed where the speed is.
