iRacing

yeah as soon as a seen that laguna seca was on the schedule my instant thoughts were to skip it but jn going to keep practicing till the weekend.

I did well in the jettas, but the mx5 drivers ruined 1 of my races you have to drive the mx5 so different to the jetta so you alway clash on certain parts of the lap.

I do fancy another blast in the Riley I love Sebring but that's not a very forgiving track but very rewarding when you get it right...

Just about to set mine up this evening.

Can you still race using the centre screen or is looking at the side screens mandatory? If that makes sense.

if you mean when you have all 3 screen running, then no you mainly look at the middle screen still, it just gives you more peripheral vision...

ive changed the angle setting in iracing since that pic and lowered it to 35 degrees made it better for me and i had it on the wrong res then aswell...

thanks mate..

no chance ive only it set up since this morning and theres no hope of me going back to1 screen.

i had 2 races today in the indy cars and they were so intense, i just felt like i was really racing...

You've got them setup at a much tighter angle than me, might have to give that a go :p

I couldn't go back either, you don't really look directly at the side ones but the extra peripheral vision is amazing, makes you much more comfortable at side-by-side racing, good for road racing, incredible for oval racing where you spend far more time side-by-side :)

yeah the angle is tight I thought it would give a better feeling for the sides of the car and it does work well for me,tho I will try different angles , but it's so intense like that I love it...

WOW

I thought when I switched to dual screens it was a "WOW" moment.

Disregarding the gaming aspect, this is how it should be ;)

you know that...

i feel like im at mission control...

LOL - Sooo true.

I tried Serious Sam 3 and **** myself. My eyeballs were confused as hell, it looked AWESOME though.

Annoyed I did not go 3 screens sooner, even not a powerful VGA card, just for desktop usage, it is AWESOME.

awesome just won my 2nd race, in the indy cars this time..

truly is proper intense with these 3 monitors, i was nervous as hell last few laps in 1st place...i lead from start to finish aswell...

and yeah gimpymoo even general use its so much better experience...

ive been playing around with the triple monitor setup and ive found my happy spot now..

ive put a much lesser angle on now, it was abit 2 extreme how i had it before.

also on max FOV all the time now..

im loving it...

Hi all. I bought this game yesterday and I am absolutely loving it! I am now license D with over a 3.0 SR, so at the end of the month I am eligible for promotion to license C.

Should I buy a license D car such as the Skip Barber and do some races? Or shall I skip license D altogether and just move onto C. If I did buy some cars would the Skip Barber and the Star Mazda be a good choice?

I only want to spend enough to give me more options available to progress. So if I bought a car but need a few tracks to use it, it will become expensive :(

If you want you can fast track the licences by doing time trial after time trial if you just want to get into the top cars quick.

I only spent a day in the skip just runing time trials to get to higher licence and only did a few laps in the star mazda as i couldnt stand the engine noise although it did feel fun to drive all i wanted to do was get into the Lotus which imo is the best car in the sim atleast it was until they spoilt it with a update taking away much of the downforce so now i drive HPD which feels very sweet with the new NTM.

thats good going to get from rookie to D class in 1 day...

you must have got to rookie 4.0 right???

the skip barber is a hard car to drive it has no downforce you have to drive it hard into the bends or you will just loose it, i couldnt master it fully, i still try...

star mazda is a proper downforce car so its "easier" to drive but it can still catch you out...

the radical is my fav car on iracing you have to through it around so the tail is on the edge, but its so fun and rewarding...

im no expert ive only been on iracing for less than a month.

be prepared to get proper addicted, i am and gimpymoo(we started same time) is we have both just bought another 2 monitors to run triple screens just for iracing...

@Johny when i do time trail i get like 2 or 4 points from doing the clean laps i need to, is there a way to get more points from time trails like doing more laps???
