Street stock is a good laugh... I haven't purchased any additional content since I have had my membership which has been off and on since 2011. I have basically been doing street stock and mazda since then, and still in rookies :o

I pay for my membership and then hardly play! :(

They always try to pick combos that include any new content they may have, that's kinda the point both to get people buying it and give people somewhere to try it before the season starts.

Either way Week 13 is always one to avoid, the official races are only good for losing SR as it's just crazy, and the unofficial ones are a good example as to why SR is such a great system :p

When I was playing I loved the ovals, can be a bit intimidating if you are on with all the people from the US who actually know what they are doing. That said they were very friendly and as long as you do your best to keep out the way you are usually even thanked for it. I love listening to the Deep South accents though, It's worth racing just for that.

I actually enjoyed the oval rookie series.

I've been D licence for ages but can't decide which is the best series to do next. Either way it means buying a lot of oval tracks so in not sure if I should bother.

Is there a D licence car and track combo in any of the 24 Heures du fun anyone can recommend?

I don't think you can run as a team of 1, you'd get disqualified, in the race info it says that minimum is 2 drivers. I'm heading into the next one with a mate of mine. It's only a 30min race though, so more like a qual sprint at Spa!

Yep, exactly 7 laps each. We won actually, but the competition wasn't up to much, and none had a second driver either! It's basically a Qual session with a driver swap.

Also picked up a 3rd in rookie ovals.

If anyone is in the market for a new wheel, Overclockers will have them for £299 for 24 hours from tomorrow.

Edit: The Thrustmaster T500 RS

Which wheel?

My pedals finally arrived yesterday, very pleased so far. I'm still fine tuning the brake pedal, filled it with the oil and so far I'm very impressed with a load cell. it has a nice amount of travel till you really get a hard bite, then it feels far more natural than the G27, even though that had the stiffer spring.

The clutch pedal has a really nice action, like a real car at the bottom of it's travel it sits there easier than under load part way. The throttle is very smooth, not much to write home about there but over all I feel I have better control over the whole range.

I was not sure if it would make me faster per se, but I did a little test at Bathurst in the C-Spec and it looked like I could get another 3/10ths out of the car after only a few laps. That could just be luck though. What I am finding is far less chance of locking up and consistent braking that you can rely on lap after lap. In the long run, I think that's how I'll get faster.

Been having a blast getting out of Oval rookies today, Street stock I've had a few good races, gone from 14th to 4th in 1 lap and stayed there, beat one of the grip TV guys earlier too on his stream. I just bought the Carb Cup and jumped in there, seems a lot of fun, very tight racing. I've just got to get used to a bit more contact!

I must have been racing too cleanly for ovals, as soon as I hit D licence I could see I already had over 1500 iRating!

Next car I'm painting is the Gen6 with my Joker scheme.

In your opinion is the T500 RS a worthwhile upgrade from the G27? I have the G27 and think it's good. But I don't like how small the wheel is.

That's the wheel I went from to a T500 and I'd say that it is definitely worth it.

Especially now they've ironed out a few issues with the earlier versions

I think it's even open to Rookies as it's unranked (not sure if thats always the case, but it certainly is this week)

Just wondered what it was in normal weeks. Wouldn't mind trying it if it's a D licence series.

Edit: Just read it's permanently an unofficial series that uses any Gen 6 and rotates three tracks.

Can anyone tell me has Iracing changed with the MX5 since March this year?

I have played a few races in the Rooke MX5 this week.

On Summit Point Raceway I was getting constant 1.25s with a best of 01:24.684. Now I can barely get below 1.26

Also on Charlotte Motor Speedway - Road Course I was getting a best of 1:21.5, now I'm around mid 1.24s

Has something changed or have I just got a lot worse? :)

I don't know of anything specific, but I tried the MX5 a few weeks ago at Lime Rock and I was a second slower than previous lap times from a long time ago.

Probably down to tire model updates or maybe weather settings. I'm not sure if weather settings for Rookie series are fixed or not.
