Give the BMW a try when the service goes off today. It's a bit more forgiving than the MP4.

Or at least it was last time I drive a GT3 car, which to be honest was when the Audi and Merc were added.

None of the GT3 cars will turn like the FR, not even close

You can't really compare the two and the driving styles are quite different for both

Obviously you can tweak the setup to give you a bit more front end bite. I've not raced GT3 for a while but I actually got on really well with the MP4

Yeah, I think it's going to take me a while to get used to them after only really driving single seaters on IRacing. I think I'm going to focus on GT3 next season with the Blancpain Sprint races and maybe some team races if others are interested.

I wouldn't expect any cleaner racing in GT3 compared to FR 2.0, it's a popular series and I've probably been wrecked more times in that series than any other. At some of the older, narrower tracks it's a squeeze for two cars side by side, let alone the three wide dive bombers.

Have you considered the Advanced Mazda? It might be a better place to start racing tin tops than the GT3 series.

I've not seen the schedule but I did a lot of racing in the old MX5 and enjoyed it, i'll definitely have a look. Does the new one feel any different?

My season was ok, although a little quiet for me as work was stupidly busy for the last two months. I dropped three weeks and only did 20-something races, which is the least I've ever done in a season since I joined.

I ran GT1 all season and should have won division 1 outright, but had a bad week at the Nordscleife in week 2 where I blew the only race I could do that week and finished 6th instead of at least 2nd and blew 50pts. In the end I needed 136pts from the last race at Silverstone Historical to win the season, but only managed 116pts for the win in a pretty sparse field so had to settle for a solid second place by 13pts.

On the plus side my iRating is the highest it's ever been at just over 6300, and I'm really looking forward to some great multi-class racing in IMSA and Proto/GT. Maybe also looking to join the Geko Vortex team for some NEO Endurace races too

Bring on Imola :)

RUF Cup is also a good place to do some tin-top racing. It has a great community, plenty of participation and is now a man's series again after they've got open setups back :)

Is anyone online yet? I'm seeing people on twitch in practice sessions, but I'm still getting the 'down for maintenance' screen... what gives?

*edit*
Just figured it out, you have to force a refresh to get rid of it - CTRL + F5

I managed to update fine and the site loads but in the race/practice tabs I have only blank boxes, so I'll give it another bash later!

Maybe they're using testdrive.iracing.com? The service is definitely still down.
Nope, they're definitely in public sessions with other drivers - eg. https://www.twitch.tv/macestreaming.

A CTRL+F5 worked for me getting passed the maintenance screen, although the site itself is broken as I can't choose any race sessions in the header.

Great.

If I want to race every week in the Skippy this season then that's three tracks I need to buy. I don't mind buying Imola because it is a proper road course. But the other two tracks are ovals with a Micky Mouse infield and really shouldn't be on any road car schedule. There are more than enough road courses on the service now without the need to sneak oval tracks into the schedule as well.
