Just to also state the obvious, but you can get a better FOV by bringing your monitor closer to you, if possible.
Yeah ultrawide would be the way to go for FOV issues without having triples.
Obviously triples is a better choice, the question was if you don’t have room for three. You know the funny thing though. I thought ultra wide would be the way to go and well. But after trying a sammy 49" UltraWide, I much prefer triples. It wasnt as immersive and the image wasnt as nice I found personally.
Hey all!
I bought a G920 a few months ago for F1 2019 (sorry!) and playing it on my desk in my chair just isn't working due to rolling back when braking!
Looking to get into sim racing more, so am after a cockpit set up, and have been looking at the Playseat Evolution Alcantara. Does anyone have any advice on what to go for around that price range of experience with the Evolution?
I'm 6'3" and 100kg so need something sturdy and not looking to spend megabucks incase the bug doesn't fully bite!![]()
I've done some quick measurements and I've got just over 58" to work with, the issue is I race at my desk so I'd be constantly moving all 3 screens backwards and forwards depending on whether I'm playing IR or if I'm doing something else.
With rigs, if you buy well you buy once and a good rig won't depreciate. I'm personally not a fan of the GT Omega/Playseat style setups as they wobble around far too much, and flex if you have a load cell brake pedal, let alone a DD motor. I'd suggest looking at https://sim-lab.eu if you're serious about getting your own rig.Looking to get into sim racing more, so am after a cockpit set up, and have been looking at the Playseat Evolution Alcantara. It's a long time since iRaced, but I bought three very cheap monitors. Only 1680x1050 and not the best panels, but they were small screens and I built a wooden stand for them to sit on, on my desk, that I could slide up to the back of my wheel for racing. It's very affordable and gives you all the benefits of wraparoundvision without a big footprint on desk or wallet. It's not ideal, but it was the best money I ever spent on my flight sim/sim racing machine. The only major downside was not having a normal 'big' screen for desktop/single screen gaming use. But folk on a budget always have to compromise somewhere.maybe one day but for now while living in a 2 bed flat something like that is too big and wayyyy out of my price range!![]()

Anyway, just wanted to throw that in. What's the saying? The enemy of good is perfect? Something like that. Don't deny yourself something good because you can't manage perfection.![]()
Thought as I'm having to stay at home I might sign up again but, although new members can sign up at 50% off, there doesn't seem to be any offers for returnees. Anyone know anything different?
