Saw that lap steve, nice time :)

I did the 20.8 on a quick couple of runs with Paul Thurstons setup (not a great lap, could probably equal the time I did on yours so not a bad set :p)

Then attempted a full fuel run, started with 12.1 gallons and almost made it when I lost it on the exit of T1 with 1.9 gallons remaining. I'm finding it really hard to get consistent times here, T1, Knickerbrook and Lodge are all places I can lose huge chunks of time by just being slightly late on the brakes/turn in, I found Suzuka a lot easier to get a nice rhythm going...

Your setup lasted nicely though, think I took a good chunk of psi out and tried the 5/5 rear suspension you mentioned, hard to compare with the different fuel levels but it seemed that tweak made it slightly more tail happy but with the benefit that it was much more controllable. I did set a 1:20 with about 4 gallons remaining, but it was a high one, it's got the pace right at the end but the tyres are a bit worn so it makes it tricky to hook it all up.

yeah putting them on 5 seems to let it have that nice sliding back end that's controllable.

I totally agree tho it's so hard to keep the same lap times going, racing is gunna be interesting and hard to pass gain...

Passing could be interested, only one I remember from the run was overtaking a slower driver into Knickerbrook, got the run out of the hairpin and alongside nicely into Knickerbrook, wasn't sure I should do it but it's practice after all, he backed off and then I had the run of making it through the corner, was a little sketchy but actually worked out fine...

So it's possible there, if you really need it and it helps a lot if the other guy backs out, if they don't then I don't think you're getting past :p

Other than that though there's the classic outbraking into Lodge and possibly a bit of a crazy one into Cascades but that's about it...

I reckon if you get a good drive out of the last turn you would be able to make a pass into T1...

but yeah I think there's gunna be a lot of hoping the other driver backs out type situation...

Yeah, good point, especially if you can make the other guy go defensive into Lodge to help getting the run on them...

Thinking about actually qualifying for a change this week now :p

@ Gravey get GTR EVO mate for race 07 you can then download GPL(for free) which gives you some of the best classics cars you can think of.

ie lotus cortina :P *round cadwell is so much fun*
rs2000
capri race car etc etc etc

we should all have a game of it one night. As i agree with you the wtcc 87 cars are my personal favs also.

As far as tracks go the virtua LM tracks being 79 lemans and mig ohio are a must . I'd have to check my data folder for some other good ones. But nogrip is the place for all things Race 07

*GO TO MY STEAM PROFILE SCREENSHOTS theres some GPL screens in there mate*

Also some of the Birmingham super prix that used to be held in the late 80's. Thats another great track.

not happy.

was racing the 12.30 in 3rd after i ran wide at the hairpin to loose a position then the idiot span at knickerbrook ended up in the middle of the road and i went straight into him with no were to go, tried to get back to pits but my engine blew...

spils i just got gtr evo today...

I had a play in the Dallara today at Oulton fixed setup was a blast around Oulton but not keen on the chicanes much they spoil the flow a little but i can drive it better than the Radical lol.

Not tried the Dallara in ages, never really got on with that one either, infact thinking about it the only high downforce/single seater I actually like to drive is the f1 car, prefer a car that's slightly less twitchy to slide around :)

GraveYard, congrats on the second place, I missed the Q before so didn't enter but watched a bit of the start/end around doing a Q session myself, looked to be a bit uneventful but hey :)

I managed to lose 0.08 SR in my Q session, I knew that would happen :p I set a 20.634 on the second lap (new pb \o/) but that was supposed to be a long-ish slow stint starting with 4 gallons, so did a couple more laps before resetting for the actual 'fast lap' with 2 gallons and didn't manage to put one together, closest I came was a 20.8, then racked up two 1x on the exit of knickerbrook when pushing on which screwed up my laps before giving up :p It's far too tempting to join another an aim for an even quicker lap even though it's utterly pointless (right now at least, 3rd overall for q times, both aliens out of reach)

i enjoy driving that ive done a few races in it, i might give it a blast at oulton over the weekend.

cheers josh.

started 2nd and finished 2nd, pretty boring i was racing against the f3 box really.

knicker brook is hard to get right 30 odd times.

i seem to have a scruffy first few laps around here happened in both my races.

i should have had 2 2nd places today but hey ho thats racing, doesnt stop me been angry at the time tho lol.

i think you would have had 2 wins today josh if you had raced.

congrats on the Q time thast quick you would have been on pole both my races.

i still need to work on my race pace...

gutted josh, i saw the whole thing. you did nothing wrong.

i had a sloppy start so i was abit behind, you took the nice wide line to give him space but he took too much of the inside kerb and it upset the car kicking him out wide into you which set you off.

gutted that would have been a epic race for us up front.

that was a awesome race for me i was very slightly faster than andrew but a back marker entering the pits made me swerve to miss him so i lost a sec and the gap just stayed at 1.5 secs the whole race then...

well that was fairly ****, congrats on second again though steve :)

Got a fairly **** start, didn't spin the wheels enough but still got a good run through on the outside of T1 giving Andrew loads of space on the inside, looking at the replay it looks like a lag hit but 'he' tagged me just slightly (0x car contact) which then sent me off into the tyre wall, 2+ minute tow and 15 minutes or so for repairs put me right at the back :(

cheers mate really was good race for me would have been better if it was against you but you would have won for defo..

see my last post that's what happened I saw it and I watched the replay...

Yeah, I hadn't seen him hit the kerb, just that he was rather close to my car and then the netcode gave me a tap :(

He has just apologised, in a sense, over PM so better than nothing (it irritated me more than the crash that he didn't say sorry or anything, until I 'thanked' him :p)
