I love my bikes had a new Suzuki gs1000 when i was 19 back in 78 and had a quick blast on a gsxr1000 the other week.
Might give the Radical another try this week i like Oulton track but only have a Suzuka setup which im guessing should be ok ? will do for a try anyway but was way off the pace there to times of other drivers i know im as quick as so i guess i suk in the Radical lol.
Hope to see you guys on track through the week. You guys make me feel old i have 2 daughters your age lol.
Really should get out and try a thousand at some time, closest I've come is the Triumph Speed Triple which doesn't really count with 'only' 138bhp
Got a Street Triple R road bike, that's plenty most of the time
The Suzuka race set was driveable around there, but an oulton specific setup is probably a good 0.5-1s quicker. I'm sure they'll be a few in the session tonight (and on the forums before the weekend). It takes a bit of getting used to.
lol I'm also 27 but 28 in may...
that was gunna be my next question, are the tracks true to life but you just answered it...
the aliens were running 17 wing aswell well the 1s I spoke to were, I had the 1 lap pace but seemed to lack confidence when it came to racing I was slightly off the pace, I dunno what it was tbh think it was the set a it understeered i lacked the confidence to push it hard all the time...
oulton is gunna be interesting u reckon the aliens will be well into the 19's, so if I get into the 20's that will do me...
I'm defo loosing time in T1 and I think the hair pin...
you have to be so careful on the power on the exit of the last turn...
Heh, when in May? I'm 28 on the 9th May ¬_¬
Simon Hulbert was saying how he raced with the 17 but that it was probably the wrong choice for the race, right for Q.
I did think a bit more about the setup a couple of times, I did find I was using quite harsh steering inputs and dabbing the brakes to get weight transfer to get it to turn, to the point where when I did that right the understeer wasn't really noticeable, it was only when driving smoothly/normally that it was really bad.
T1 I didn't really get hooked up, at the hairpin you can carry loads of speed because of the ridiculous camber, I like it as at the exit the rear steps out nice and predictably for some lovely powersliding \o/
The last turn is tricky, even going smoothly on the power it's stepping out so I give up and just aim for a 'nice' slide rather than aiming to avoid sliding entirely...
