iRacing

eh up mate were have you been?

this wheel stand pro will be up for sale mate, I remember you say you wanted first dibs, you still want it???

yeah he loves it, we gotta spread the Iracing love round man...

think I'm gunna be miles off race pace josh...

just can't get the flow going now, can't get no were near my pb never mind opt..

been on it too much I think...

Another one who has seen the light which is iRacing?

Yer defo. Cant see me playing anything else now. Even if the rookie cup does feel like the wild west. Ill even let my 8pm race slip that was spoilt by a driver WHO claimed "i suck at road racing". Thats no excuse to Total me into t1 then again as i lap U. Grrrrrrrr

i think pure speed wise, a touch slower, had some turn in understeer, but i found it more stable, so i was more comfortable :), im bad with a edgy car :(

and the brake thing, i either lock the fronts or the rears, and rears ends up worse :D, i need to take my peddles apart and fiddle, i got a apexelectric load cell, and with a chair on casters, bad seat with cushion, me being a pansy too, im not modulating well.

something might of fell in there too :/

I'll try the bump/rebound tonight, think I did try it 5 on one and 6 on the others and there might've been a slight improvement but hard to say.

As for pace, I kinda count a couple of tenths tops in the 'about the same' bit, it's not like I'm able to do those kind of times consistently :)

A rest is always good, I find sometimes going through a lap in my head can sometimes help get me a bit more sorted with it, really need to try full fuel though tonight and get ready for the race, are you still using your set with minor tweaks?

In good news I was supposed to be going to my dads tonight until saturday with my van but it's gone and got one of the brakes seized so I get to have all Friday racing \o/

cool hope we have some races together again.

yeah had a couple hours off it last night then went back on and I was a lot better but still only High 20s, but I never strung 1 proper flyer together...

yeah I'm still using my set with them adjustments, it's working well for me..

had a blast with 1 of Stephen giers that he shared in a practice session last night, very good but I found it stiff again...

pingu I'm thinking if getting that ap load cell how is it?, I have the Nixim mod in mine...

I'm no expert, and have probably raced less in three years than you seem to have done in three weeks, but I wouldn't worry about chasing hardware tweaks. Some of the best drivers there have surprisingly average kit.

As long as your hardware has no obvious glitches the trick is simply focusing on the task and logging the hours required to master any one of the cars on iRacing. You sound fast enough from what you'e said about errors and catching up again. Just focus and work on your consistency.

I have no problem with consistency. But that's because I can't drive fast enough to make many mistakes. :-)

it's all about the feeling tho mate and the pleasure it gives you, since putting the Nixim mod in my pedals I've become more consistent than I was before( Still not great tho ) and I've enjoyed using my pedals more..

sim racing is a hobby mate, so I don't mind spending money on it.

yeah you are correct with the boys with "avarage" gear are still rapid, huttu used a DFGT on 1 of his winning runs, also I guy we race the radical with who is a alien uses a DFGT set Robert hope.

I only race the radical, so that us my only focus, it can be a handful but that's part of the fun, I know I'm above the avarage driver speed wise just again need more confindence in race trim and still more consistency but I think that is never ending...

there's always some thing to buy or want its never ending...

OK as I've got addicted to pcars I'm thinking of giving iracing a go.
How often do the rookie races run? I assume they are scheduled events?

Logitech being donkeys regarding Windows 8 drivers which means no FFB which means no racing :(

Tried a few races, felt like I was dragging a deer carcass under my wheels.

I am loathed to install a secondary O.S for one piece of hardware. Sure, I respect it is my choice to install an operating system in Beta but I do not think it is too much for a company like Logitech to be supporting it.

Got back into Race 07/GTR etc for my touring cars fix what with the BTCC season just starting. I can play it with a pad without it seeming too arcadey. Totally forgot how much fun these games are. Hosting a server for mates with 20+ AI cars simulating the BTCC season/tracks is just hilariously good fun.

I am pumped for a BTCC series in iRacing.

Regarding the WSP, am definitely interested, thank you for remembering me. Send me a trust message ;)

I would not be able to pony up till the end of the month though if you can hold on, 2 kids and a wifes birthday in the same month :( Could get the WSP for Mrs Moo as a birthday present but do not think it would go down too well - lol

See my trust though, definitely want it. Does it have the shifter attachment? Not fussed either way though.

oh yeah I can't wait for a BTCC series or even a car to come to Iracing..

josh finally I put a half tidy lap time in and it was sloppy as I was jut chilling and driving, that's my new plan lol try relax and not force it...

Saw that lap steve, nice time :)

I did the 20.8 on a quick couple of runs with Paul Thurstons setup (not a great lap, could probably equal the time I did on yours so not a bad set :p)

Then attempted a full fuel run, started with 12.1 gallons and almost made it when I lost it on the exit of T1 with 1.9 gallons remaining. I'm finding it really hard to get consistent times here, T1, Knickerbrook and Lodge are all places I can lose huge chunks of time by just being slightly late on the brakes/turn in, I found Suzuka a lot easier to get a nice rhythm going...

Your setup lasted nicely though, think I took a good chunk of psi out and tried the 5/5 rear suspension you mentioned, hard to compare with the different fuel levels but it seemed that tweak made it slightly more tail happy but with the benefit that it was much more controllable. I did set a 1:20 with about 4 gallons remaining, but it was a high one, it's got the pace right at the end but the tyres are a bit worn so it makes it tricky to hook it all up.
