I really want to race it next season if I don't get my class B, but with an 11 week old baby I'm not sure if I'll get the chance to practice enough to become competent. I've always got the skippy to fall back on but would rather race a tin top.
So almost at the end of S1 2014 how has it been for everyone?
Week 12 may be quite stressful for me as I am in a 3 way fight for my division championship in the GT3.
Had a lot of ups and downs with the GT3 series but thoroughly enjoyed it and to say it was the first Sim racing I had done in almost 2 years I am pleased with how its gone. It has also been the first time I have ever done a complete season in one car on iracing (apart from Spa where I didn't get the chance to race). It is definitely the way to go if you want to be competitive.
I am not sure what I am going to race next season. I enjoy the RUF but the Z4 GT3 looks and sounds amazing (and has a proper interior!) but everyone will no doubt be driving it. I might even move away from the GT3 series completely and try something completely different.
Lets hope the update fixes the issues with the Macca and kerbs. I'm just about to get my B license and want to use that rather than the BMW/RUF, but only if the issue is sorted.
I was expecting a few more post in the thread as we're about to start a new season.
I've bought the Z4 and the COTA track and I am liking them both.
I've been a bit inactive these season (working lots) and I have missed out on my class B in oval, I will be getting my class A licence on road though.
GT3 series seems like its going to be great! I am as fast/slow in each car but IMO the MP4 will have even less usage this season. Though they have improved it over the kerbs it is still no where near as good as the other two.
Star mazda has had some love too.
When are going to arrange another 'ocuk bumper cars' car?
Well im hoping to do a full season in the C Spec RUF, quite enjoyed it towards the end of last season but i only did half of it, ended up being in the top 30 for my Division which wasnt bad, and eventually at a few tracks had or was close to the times of the aliens, the one and only thing that has confused me is the brake bias changes, i cant quite figure it out for my setups
And my i should be promoted to a B class on monday too, which is a bonus as ill be able to take the track spec ruf out for a few races, although all those settings for TC etc confuse me.
Finished 21st in my division overall
TT i finished 3rd in division.
Overall for the season i ended up 183rd which isnt bad as i only did 6 weeks.
Well having tested all the cars for GT3 I'm afraid to say I'm a bit of a sheep and will mostly be driving the BMW.
It's the car I'm most consistent with. The macca is quick but too skittish for me, and the RUF? Well it's a made up GT3 and it handles like a boat. I just cannot get it to turn into a corner like the other 2.
Ill be driving the GT3 cup also. RUF or MP4 for me I have very little love for a BMW Z4, though was very impressed with the AC version handles very very good . But not really a car that gets my heart racing in real life.
Also try and do the UK and Ireland MX5 challenge every Wednesday evening. Always a strong field of drivers.
For fun wee bit of Lotus 79 and the Grand touring cup, so I can drive my beloved MX5.
Would be awesome if a load of us could enter GT3 I don't mind helping the slower people get up to speed and sharing my setups. Anything to help the UKI CLUB.
Ended up finishing 2nd in division 5 in the GT3. Staying with it for next season but swapping to the Z4.
The first race could be a bit ridiculous don't know why they have chosen the classic version of the glenn.
Going to concentrate quite a bit more on private leagues this year. Joining the BSR BTCC in the KIA which should be good fun. Might also do the UK&I skip barber league as well.
