I'm not sure about the Z4 but the RUF handles and is much slower with race fuel. with 20 gals on board I'm around 1-1.5 seconds off my PB's.

Once its filled of fuel the front end rises loosing a lot of the front end grip, which in turn heats up the tires which ends up loosing more grip that then creates even more heat :D

But carrying a few extra litres of fuel over a race distance isn't going to make hardly any difference unless every lap you do is within a few tenths of the same time. Even then it would be almost negligible.

Sorry I miss read your point. No a few gallons here and there should effect anything. But 20 gallons certainly will.

Paul's last post mentioned coming in a lap earlier than leaders and only having one lap of fuel left at the end. I was referring to not needing to be to concerned with fuel to those levels.

It wasnt so much concern, more surprise. I assumed my lack of knowledge and extra caution would mean im not on throttle as much, or as hard, as those able to lap faster.
I started on a full tank, used throttle profile 6 on the pace car lap, went as far as i could in the race and pitted with 1.0 or less laps fuel. The 4 ahead went a lap further, and im certain there was a 'leader pitting this lap' type msg the lap after that.

So i assumed i wasnt pushing it as hard, when it appears im actually overdriving it, not driving as efficiently as i could.

Im not particularly fussed about it, though it does mean i need a drop of fuel more than them, and yesterday as they exited the pits i was alongside 4th, with 3rd within a second of him. A drop less fuel used plus less added (i had the 5 laps message with 5min left in the race) would have seen me pass 4th, possibly 3rd.

Thats something i'd need to look at and see where im losing time & wasting fuel.

I dont think i'll do another Zandvoort tonight, i havent practiced for mx5 (think i'll pass on that now) and have a skippy league race, but after enjoying the GT3 races im done with the rest, i want to focus on that and do skippy on the side. I just hope it doesnt require a load of new track purchases!

That's me out for week 6 without a doubt and 7 unless it's Indy Road.

It will also mean a first time at Motegi since I bought it ages ago and looks like another track to buy with Donnington being released.

Fixed my brake problem and slow lap times on my new ClubSport V2's pedals. The brake was flickering on when not in use and slowing me down by about 10%.

Moved it to direct USB connection to PC instead of powerless hub and problem solved. Either power or interference problems :)

Strongly recommend Fanatec ClubSport V2 pedals, load cell braking is so much better and consistent.

Yeah, Donington (single 'n') is expected for next season. I also saw that they're working on the NGTC BMW and Honda from the BTCC series, which i think would be fantastic.

It'd be pretty much the same as the GT3 series, just a little slower is how i'd imagine it, although FWD & RWD might make it interesting.

Also... fanfair please... I just won my 2nd race!! :D GT3 @ Brands Indy.

Took me 2 races to get my first, and about 42 to get my second :D
Been an absolute nightmare week though. This was my 6th attempt, the first was fine, silly mistake early on cost me 6 places but got back to 3rd, 2nd divebombs and takes out the leader and i finish 2nd to the wrecker.
Race 2 ran into a spun car at the exit of T3, nowhere to go.
Race 3, moved to the inside of T2 on the first lap, guy decided he wanted that space, and i had the option of grass or pretending he's not there. Got a wheel on the grass, took others out and he gets away incident free.
Race 4... race 4! In 3rd, following the 2 in front for about 10 laps, they're close and battling. 2nd makes a dumb dive down the inside straight into the path of the leader, leader ends up off into the gravel, he manages to hold on. I manage to get inside on the run up, he goes around the outside of T2, i hold a tight line, he guns it out of the corner wheel on the grass and T-bones me, takes out 3rd behind us, and the original leader goes through.
Race 5. Im leading, holding the inside line along the straight, 2nd right behind me, i move to the middle of the track for the corner, he dives down the inside, slams me into the wall. Race over again.

Theres a familiar pattern in 3 of those races. 2nd Divebombing the leader, taking him out, and carring on unharmed while the others take the punishment. All 1 person, Zachary Hanlin.

After that 5th race, and hurling a few select, but justified words his way, i leave and about 5min later theres a PM. Dont recognise the name but the PM is titled 'did you sleep with his mum?' :D
Its another Aussie, who'd spectated a few races, and by pure chance, happened to have seen both of those last 2 races and commented on the fact that he's an absolute idiot, and he's seen him do similar stuff already.
When i looked, he'd attempted the race 5 times. In FOUR of them, he'd taken out the leader, and he'd won 3 of those.

He was there for this race too, and i basically warned everyone that if he can keep up with you, he'll make an idiotic move, so GL surviving it.
I spent the first 10 or so laps basically parking my car on the inside line for T1 & T2 whenever he was within 0.5sec, because otherwise he doesnt get the message. He see's a gap, doesnt care about the consequences and uses you to stay on track while you get sent in another direction.
He screwed up after 10 laps, and after that it was just a case of holding on.

As an added bonus, i also had Matt Orr & Shaun Cole in there :D
I have to admit, purely clicking on a 'recommended video' which had nothing to do with what i'd been looking at, took me to one of his/Empty Box videos, and i watched about 6-9mo of them in about a week, and he's the reason i decided to try iRacing properly.
Unfortunately, his race consisted of 3x 'car contact', and 5x 'off track' so the likelihood of getting my 15min of fame look slim to none :(

I hate dive bombers like that and iRacing always give them the advantage when they hit and kills the victim. Unfortunately without supervised / marshalled events, there is nothing iRacing can code to fix this.

We have a couple who we watch out for in SRF (remain nameless) and protests can help along with the video proof.

Well done on the race win :)

Not been having much luck this week, been doing the MX5 at Laguna Seca to get some SR as its a track I know well and find the MX5 pretty easy to drive. Managed to get my SR to within 0.10 of a B license and each time I have been taken out by some idiot.

First time was a guy I let past on the back straight and as he was passing me he just turned into me, he said he keep getting a black screen at random times and cant fix it........dont bloody race then!!!

Second time it was the opposite, a guy told we to pass right over comms and then swerved in front of me, massive pile up and now Im down to 3.65 again

Totally doing my head in atm as every race Im in Im starting from the pits just to avoid everyone but I still manage to find some idiot at some point, maybe its just me

At last :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

He would lose his B licence quick smart then :P

Is it as bad as that?

I did a quick test run in the Z4 last night at Okayama and managed a 29.9 which I was pretty pleased with considering I dont really know the track and it is the first time I had driven the Z4.
