is 2gb not enough?

I find it shocking that none of you play with TrSSAA enabled... you must enjoy looking at jaggie alpha textures ( Trees, bushes, grass...blah...blah... )

I play games at low/medium mate. The only time i've bothered to make a game look even slightly pretty is Assetto Corsa (it did look nice, but a single 780 would cause drops so went back to medium)

I would, just not downloading 23gb for the sake of one game i'll never play :D
My internet is shocking.

Yours and mine both. 4.5mb here and stuck with that for a couple of months still :(

Ohhh and yer, the previous point I do agree.

Crysis 3 can get brutal.... Even the first Crysis game when running 8xMSAA can break the 2Gb mark in places.

The first Metro game with MSAA on too......

Deferred game engines suck up VRAM with MSAA on...

Crysis 3 is an exceptional game in terms of grunt needed. Even at 1080P, one Titan seriously struggled in places with all settings maxed out and SLI has awesome scaling but can still see low frames at times. This is why I said that more textures/lighting/tessellation/effects that require more than 2GB VRAM @ 1080P, will require something more powerful than we currently have or to SLI/CF (and that isn't an option for a lot of people).

I could be wrong and happy to be proven wrong in honesty, as this debate has been going on for years and years on these and other forums and nothing ever gets resolved.

Turn the effects down and the textures up, as I've said a number of times, TMU performance is completely independent from ALU performance.

If a card is ALU bound it might still have a good chunk of TMU grunt left in reserve for higher quality textures.

Anyway rather than a Hitman bench thread shows that only with 2 GK104s you can really get acceptable frames for 1440p with MSAA 4x and with two you aren't being limited by 2GB. Not to say 2GB GK104 is necessarily the best option but as a point of order.

Of course...

All games 2560x1440, High quality AF forced in CCC and 4xTrSSAA turned on in every game.... It's loverly and produces IQ that pleases my eyes :D

Something wrong with your frame rates though. Perhaps the card is overheating (they're known for this ) or perhaps a driver issue? Or perhaps PEBKAC?
