Is 8GB of Vram enough for the 3070

The fact that Nvidia are releasing a last Gen card with 12gb vram speaks volumes. Surely they should just use the same fab space for newer Gen cards? 3050?

Perhaps the 12GB isn't comeing, one of the biggest webshops over here has put up for sale 50+ ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 DUAL EVO OC 6GB

Im running a 3070ti in a new build.
It was the best card at the time that was within my budget. I aim to replace it when prices settle but for now I play at 1440p with settings on max and for my games its fine.

Meaning you don't really need another card to begin with.

Nope. At 3440x1440 playing CP2077 and HWINFO reports that 8.6GB VRAM was utilised. RTX on Ultra, DLSS on balanced, everything else on Ultra/Psycho.

Where would the extra 0.5GB on a 8GB 3070 come from in that situation? :p

Now apparently the rumoured 3070ti has double the RAM, the year old 3070 got...and 4GB more than the 3080ti? :D

Is there no end to the Nvidia RAM SCAM?

Nvidia, selling you last years card - today!
