Is Amazon delivery getting worse?

Delivery here is fine, as most Amazon.de orders are carried out by the post office.

Despatch times however are all over the place. I ordered an item last week that said arrives in 2 days, yet when I came to actual checkout the estimated delivery time was almost 2 weeks.
I don't know if Amazon UK has this happen as well, but I've experience it both during checkout, and also subsequently, post order, where the estimated delivery date is increased dramatically.

I cancelled an item recently that had been in the status of "We're preparing your order for shipping" for 10 days despite having an estimated delivery time of 2 days.

the 1pm thing was free with prime until not too long ago. Now you pay. Amazon seem to be turning into Aliexpress/Temu lately, hard to find brand name items at the top of the search list anymore, just the usual chinese junk.

This is becoming irritating I agree. Lots of no name Chinese junk, if I want that sort of product I can get it on eBay, AliExpress or DHGate, I don't really want to have it on Amazon.

thought for a second he was standing up and didn't need the chair at all lol
Thats what I almost thought.. Shame, that would have been icing on the cake..

With Amazon, they react quickly to changes in demand etc, we 'almost' had a new depot in Gloucester which would have been only 3 miles away, but alas, despite it being built and them advertising for staff, the just pulled the plug as they reacted to the situation..

It hammers home the sheer scale of Amazon when they can build a massive warehouse, have it ready to rock and roll and just chuck it away..

This is why they change.. we've had periods of later deliveries and the odd late one, then a few weeks later, they'll be early and on time for ages..

They arrive quite late at night, but never fail to deliver. I've gotten over the old "I want my delivery yesterday please" if it gets here cool! if not then meh.

Their returns process has just got a lot easier for me, can now just take the unwanted thing to the local post office counter a short walk away and hand it over, they scan a code on my phone and deal with everything else.
No having to box it up, print labels etc.
It would be nice if the drivers bothered to even knock the door though, let alone ring the bloody bell. Chuck the package at the door, take a quick picture (could be any door) and off they go.
