Is it time to sack Wenger?

When has he listened to the fans??...we have been saying for ages, get rid of Walcott, sign some decent world class defenders, who dont get injured every time they get touched by an opponents player:p

LOL Walcott aint going nowhere, hes Wengers little pet and has been for years....every yr i wish that this muppet Walcott would show what he is capable of and every yr i get more and more disappointed when he shows that hes absolutely useless.

Walcott is loved by the fans(or has been till recently), the loudest chants you can hear on TV(yeah, I have joint problems I haven't been able to get there for a few years), and before then were the ridiculous "theo, theo, theo" chant, aside from being the least creative chant in the history of the universe, Arsenal fans crack it out no matter how crap he is.

Till this season, Theo has been started by Wenger, started by Capello, mostly liked by the fans and frequently singled out for praise by crap pundits.

I very small minority of Arsenal fans(or any others) have been asking for Walcott to be dropped.

i been to the emirates loads of times and the only player people moan about is ashavin and the fact we desperatly wanna see Ox play!

The fans reaction at the Emirates, the blind and truly epically stupid sounding "wenger knows" and the utter lack of contempt by the majority at a title winning world class team being dismantled year by year and being replaced by CRAP, is embarrassing.

I went to Emirates and highbury as often as I could get tickets till literally it was so painful it just wasn't worth it for me. The fans pay for the players, the team and Arsenal fans pay more than anyone else, for this crap.

I have no problem with selling players, but if you get a crap one, move on, Wenger is sticking with idiots, the attitude in the players is shocking. Walcott comes out in the press with this diatribe of rubbish, crying when he found out he wasn't going to the cup...... he's barely a league 1 player, for speed alone, not for ability, and he's upset he hasn't been chosen to go play for England. There are dozens of better qualified players, he's been gifted this chance and he jogs through games in a lazy way and after losses blaming everyone else, talking about where we should be and how good the team is.

Seriously , I'm still seeing people on football news sites/forums say, Wenger knows, clearly he knows because he started Ox in the first place.........

he started him because Gervinho isn't here, it was his first start, he is massively better than Walcott and Gervinho and he's only played him when he has no other choice..... Wenger knows? No, Wenger mistakenly plays our best player when he's left with no other choice....... the sign of a truly great manager.

Its happening in many places.

We've lost players like VDS, Scholes?, Ronaldo, Tevez etc a Champions League winning team, legednary players, replaced with Welbeck, Young, etc...It makes for very sad reading if you took the time to review our team of the last 15 years and see what has happened:(

Luckily we have more money to spend than you do, but honestly any good player out there is going to get snapped up by Barca, Real, Man City...and you and us are left with the best of the rest.

Come on.. its all pretty much the same thing. they both keep the women in cages and wear what look like pyjamas etc etc...

You can say the same effectively for Catholics and Protestants, they worship the same God and are both Christians.

Not really anything to do with poor Arsene Wenger though.

What? Sikhism is nothing like Islam you utter rampton.

I'm sorry but what do you expect? You can't replace like for like when it comes to those players. VdS was a great bit of business and the club nurtured Scholes and Ronaldo from youngsters into great players - with time the same could equally be said of De Gea, Cleverley and Welbeck. The only way there'd be no appreciable drop in quality is if we signed Casillas, Xavi and Messi. :o

Meh, I simply don't believe that, firstly there are hundreds of GREAT footballers out there, WAY more than just the top clubs can have. For instance, Villa and Silva were at Valencia for years, its not like they left for a "top" club at 18.

The thing with footballers is, age, they don't last and there are always new ones. Being able to replace footballers is the easy part. Not least because Real for instance have wasted more money on crap players than good players. Kaka has been awful for them, half the defenders they buy can't defend, they just spent 30mil on a left back to replace another left back who can't defend, and both look awful so far this season.

People over pay for average players including the top clubs, leaving gems for others to pick up every single season without fail.

How much was Kompany, how much was Cesc, how much was RVP, how much was Scholes, Cleverly, Wilshire, Hart.

There are always very good players, that is no excuse.

I think its a mixture of a few things.

Mostly the fact the club has no money! All our actions indicate we have none.

Skimping, penny pinching, not signing certian players, because the club wanted 2 million more etc etc etc...

We need the board to be shaken up first. Get in a man city/chelsea kind of position, where wenger can comptete for the best players and offer big wages.

Problem is that boat has sailed, as the new fair play laws come in soon, which should actually put Arsenal in a good position. Its just unfair that city and chlease have already bought a team, where as Arsenal are still operating with in their means.

We just have to grind our teeth and wait a few years for the new fair play rules to come in and things will start looking up again.

As for tactical indicision from Wenger. Well if he had the cash to splash, he would be more free to ship player s out and sign new ones, meaning Arshaving would have be less likely to have pplayed against united and that tactical mistake would never have happened!

Chamberlain is amazing tho. He definetly needs to start. What a differerance a bit of quality makes!

LOL you havent got a clue have you??

you don't seem to have a clue.

Sikhism is a religion originating in Punjab - India, a Sheikh is just a rich Arab from any number of Arab countries considered to be a "leader" but in this day and age it just means he is rich and with that money comes power.

Arabs are muslim.

For you to say they are the same thing is like me saying Catholics and Protestants are the same thing, but they aren't they are sworn enemies in Ireland and Glasgow, etc.

Same goes for Sikhs and Muslims, almost all Sikhs I know hate muslim's they may have some muslim friends but behind their back they will say all sorts and truly do hate them.

Sure some can be friends but the majority have an underlying hate I would imagine instilled in them from elders and history.

Neither do you as well.

Anyone back OT, seems like rumours are that Real Madrid want Wenger as their next manager:p...a manager who hasnt won FA for 7 odd yrs and a team thats trying win trophies and compete with Barca lol...you couldnt make it up if you tried but seems like the Daily Fail have done just that:p.

Dont think the Moaning one will be at Real next season as his love affair with Real is coming to an end especially with a few Real players blasting him in the Spanish press.

A swap would be absolutly brilliant!

Less fancy football and more trophies, yes please!

The problem is that Mourinho would want an open chequebook and Arsenal havent got that lol. Thats why Arsenal wont get rid of Wenger because he balances the books with his rubbish signings and wages he gives them.

This :). If Mancini doesn't win the league, City will sack him and they will hire Jóse.

Jose has won the league with Porto, at a time when they had a squad like Utd's late 90's squad, all the talent in the country, undisputed leaders(afaik) and Fat Sam could probably have won the league, he took over the 2nd best team in the prem league, had someone buy his 2 stand out performers for the next year before he got there(Ranieri bought Cech and Robben) and won the league when Arsenal got worse while improving a little.

He managed one more title then his team started showing problems, while spending HUGELY on mostly gash players.

At Inter he took over a title winning side, got VERY lucky to win a CL, won a couple league titles while the main competitors "recovered" from various issues, spent them into problems and left them with a long term weaker squad.

I don't think he'd do well at Arsenal in the slightest.

Has anyone watched Real, he bought one of the best CB's, had another of the best CB's in the world at Inter in a defensive league. At Chelsea he inherited the best CB partnership the league has seen in over a decade...... and broke it, at Real their defence is a shambles, he's bought more defenders since and they've sucked. He's bought DM's and the defence isn't sorted.

I know Real are ahead in the league but, again the previous manager had already vastly improved the team and had them within winning distance and Jose has again spent WAY more.

I've also said, Wenger at a new club could be like a fresh manager, with new players, no connections, no favourites and the willingness to cut people again he could probably do very well somewhere that isn't Arsenal.

The one thing I think Jose would do extremely well with at Arsenal is, cutting the crap players, fixing the winning attitude(or lack of one) and selling off the deadwood. I don't trust him to buy the right players though, nor to drastically improve players who simply aren't good enough.

I don't think he's the guy for long term stability, keeping players happy, or making it about the team rather than himself.

Oh and its worth noting again that, and I've thought this for 4-5 years. We know Ian Holloway gets a cut of player sales in his deal with the club, it turns out Harry has had this deal for donkeys years at various clubs and I wouldn't be surprised if a LOT of managers get a cut of player sales or....... profits.

What I've wondered for a long time is, is it actually in Wenger's best interests to WIN the league...... or does Wenger make more money himself by selling players and spending less on transfers. IE maybe his deal is he gets 2% of all profits or something.

Thing is, again the whole 65mil to 115mil wages thing...... he could be doing a lot better for himself with cheaper players who are better than some of the tosh we have now.

Hardly that surprising. Wouldn't be the first time we've lumbered a Spanish side with somebody way past their best. \o/

That said, the thing that worries me is that if Wenger goes, RvP is 100% definitely out too.

Serious question.

What do you think has hindered Walcotts progress at Arsenal? Is it the way Wenger has managed him?

He was a stunning prospect when Wenger signed him, and i watched him a few time with my mate, who is a Saints supporter, He had masses of talent as a youngster?

I am really dissapointed that he isn't the player he should have been.
