Is it time to sack Wenger?

There are plenty of players that show promise when younger but never build on it, or go backwards. I do think Walcott should be give a chance playing off the last man as a striker rather than being relied upon to deliver crosses/build-up play though... he's just not a winger.

This in a nutshell...hes just not cutting it as a winger and Wenger keeps persisting on him playing there but it just DOES not work but trying Wenger that lol.

He has played as a striker in a few games im sure and was much more of a success there rather than trying to be winger.

I think the best thing for both Arsenal and Wenger himself is a parting end of this season..they seem to be stagnating to me. Where is the drive or leadership?

The club as a whole, Manger/Board/Fanbase are quite content trundling along scraping into the CL every year, what happens if/when you dont get there?

Its the same old excuses as why year upon year they fail to win anything, referees, injuries, governing body. Have a clear out from top to bottom, get a manager with the same ethos as Wenger if you must, but new blood is needed if the football club is to move forward imo.

Oh, and get new medical staff in...Jesus.

well said.

i actually had a dream last night that Wenger got the sack lol

Well the most ridiculous thing is, well I'll quote from footie 365.

A Surprising Development
'Jack Wilshere is scheduled to return to full training at Arsenal next week, with Arsène Wenger fighting to rein in the midfielder's exuberance and his desperation to make a prompt playing comeback...The medics have found themselves under pressure. But they have come to consider Wilshere as a "medical miracle," because of how quickly his body has healed - The Guardian, January 18.

'Jack Wilshere has given Arsenal and England a massive injury scare after suffering a recurrence of the ankle problem which has kept him out this season, the Guardian understands - The Guardian, January 27.

So what can we see, Jack was pushing to hard, training to early, the doctors said it would take longer but because he was training on it earlier it was a "medical miracle".

Sounds exactly like doctors told him/Arsenal/Wenger EXACTLY how long it would take, that it was too soon, and Wenger/Arsenal/Wilshire decided he was fine, to kick training up a gear, and he's broken down.

Yes, the medical staff there needs firing, all of them.

I think there was something in the metro about Jose Mourinho having a falling out with Real Madrid and if he left there, they would pursue Wenger as there first choice manager.

So people wanting Wenger gone could have it!

So I like the way a lot of people on this thread want Wenger gone, but when he gets something right, such as the 7-1 win, nobody has said anything at all, atleast give him some credit or still say you want him out. This was my point before, when he gets you good results he goes back to being God, and you pretend you never wanted him out all along.

No, he should be fired, simple as that.

THere are people who make daft ultimatums "IF" he finishes in X position he should be fired.

No, he should be fired, I don't think I've ever seen anyone EVER rip an unbeaten, title winning side into something so completely pathetic. We've seen it several times when, and ONLY when a team is in financial trouble and forced to sell basically the whole squad, never when a team is in no financial trouble at all.

We MIGHT scrap 4th, beating one of the worst teams in the league has zero bearing on how good a team we are.

Thing is, if you had a real point, or had read the thread, you'd already know that.

Wenger isn't up to the job, he's put together a ruddy awful 115mil a year in wages team that is half the team we had 7 or so years ago barely spending 60mil a year. 50mil more for a team that is completely uncompetitive and can't even beat Brum in a final.

Arsenal are going backwards with every transfer window, every season, the fact that we win a couple games here or there doesn't change this over riding fact.

If we get 4th this year, we'll STILL have gotten worse, and we'll get worse again next year, and the year after. We've gotten worse every year for 7 years, only the fact that the entire league has gone downhill has hidden SOME of how bad we've gotten.

If we keep Wenger, we'll get worse, hence, he needs to go, and had he gone 4 years ago we'd have unquestionably a better squad today.

I know hes a great manager but would he really leave Real Madrid for Arsenal, I know he has said he wants to come back to the EPL but I think he is waiting for SAF to retire and then take over at Old Trafford, and his 1st signing will be C.Ronaldo after Ronaldo saying he misses Manchester United the other day and wants to return.

SAF wont retire this season. Morinho aint going to wait that long to go to united plys sir bobby charlton doesnt want Morinho anywhere near manchester united.

Going to arsenal could be a good move for Morinho if he is looking for a bit of a challenge instead of going to a club who is already winning titles left right and centre.

Why not go to arsenal and help them to become a dominent force again? Plus Morinho loves the london life too so being at arsenal is eve more appealing.

If wenger stays and moves up as a board of director. Wenger can continue to find Ox's and wilsheres for peanuts whilst Morinho will concetrate on what he does best, onfield tactics and man to man management.

It could be a dream combo. Morinho wouldnt need 500m to buy the title. He will have Wengers background knowledge on buying unknown players and turning them into gems for peanuts

I doubt the Arsenal board would want to pay Mourinho's wages.

I think Arsenal's next manager will be someone picked by Wenger, and he is very keen on Dragan Stojkovic. I can't see the philosophy at the club changing as it is being run like a proper sustainable business. If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be proud of how the club is still up there. Were it not for billionaires splashing out big on the top teams, I imagine they would still have been right at the top and able to attract more of the top stars with affordable wages. It is the astronomical wages the big spenders are paying that is putting Arsenal where they are, but if UEFA stick to their word (which I don't expect them to) Arsenal should be back up there soon.

Furthermore, I'd just like to add that I find the stick Arsene Wenger gets is absolutely appalling. Arsenal fans seem to think that they have a god given right to be top of the league and that they should just spend all that they have to get there. To call for Wenger to be sacked is an incredible lack of loyalty, especially considering the flack Nasri got for leaving Arsenal for a lack of loyalty. Something seems to have gone wrong somewhere in that Arsenal fans think Wenger owes them something. For me it is the other way round.

Wenger could have left Arsenal to go and join Real Madrid on countless occasions and showed loyalty to what is a much smaller club. Now things are still good but not good enough for some fans, he's being lynched. Poor show in my opinion.

true true, As long as Wenger is there in some capacity id be very happy. I still dont want to see him get sacked tho. I wouldnt say he found Ox for peanuts, he cost £15 mil basic
