Is my living room too dark?

May I suggest you get some children. Then you will have bright coloured crayoning on the light walls to accentuate their neutrality The lack of variation on the sofa and furniture will be subtly altered with spilt yoghurt and mushed up puree stains. The exactness will of course also be permanently altered and the whole room will become more entertaining when the raw danger of stepping on Lego when barefoot is added into the equation.

You've managed to get away with the usual wifey no-no's of having big speakers and a hi-fi rack, so maybe just let her have her way with this?

He's already allowed her to introduce every woman's sole idea about interior decoration, the ever pointless "Vase With Twigs In It".
That in itself is a step too far, besides, what is she doing in the front room when there are sandwiches to be made?

Yes, and this is exactly why there can be no victory here ;)

Precisely.
OP, if you'd trained her properly in the first place, this thread would never have happened...

She for some reason hates browns and wants to switch everything that's brown to be grey. The girl is outta control on her flippin greys!

I think you've got a bigger problem than just a manky coffee table. Your good lady is trying to give you a hint......working on the assumption that you are 'brown' and she wants grey.....

Looks ok to me, although I'd change the rug to a shorter pile. As mentioned, it must be a ..... to hoover.

Also, hang that picture!!

There are too many colours in the room. The brown and black furniture clashes. I prefer dark brown to black. Consider replacing the black component stands with something softer in colour and paint the walls an off white rather than yellow. Change the curtains for off white and lose the grey rug. Grey doesn't fit in the room with yellows and brown's.

Remove the shelves as this just adds clutter in eye line when watching tv.

Or lose the browns and go for an off white and grey scheme ( yellow walls still have to go). Either way reduce the number of colours and the clutter.

Your left shelf is an inch or two low on the right hand side, or you have an oddly proportioned camera.

The coffee table does look a bit dark though, brown is fine, but it should ideally be the same shade as the other browns in the room.

So, having a bit of an argument with the wife.

We've just spent a pretty penny on some new sofa's and accent chairs. Which we both like.

She hates brown, but you just purchased brown sofas?

I think the brown is a fine primary accompanied with the off white walls. Table looks fine get rid of the rug, the tat on the shelves and that crap vase next to the telly.

e: also ditch the small chair by the curtains.

ee: also the white and green pots.
