ISIL, ISIS, Daesh discussion thread.

Tefal is correct and Scorza is just trying to stir it with info from whichever bigotted sites he's been visiting recently lol - it was originally destined to be a mosque or community building - the new owners set up a lease agreement which incorporated a couple of clauses which (LOL @ Robgmun choice of websites btw pamela gellar? - biased much?) the usual dailyfail type papers are trying to promote as an implementation of sharia law - very lol worthy.

Cut the petty name calling and comments out

I'd have thought it was good news that our MPs wouldn't be able to drink on the job, and we'd save the money spent on booze*.

*this is slightly tongue in cheek :p.

I have some good friends who are ex-muslim and they said something that has stuck with me for years.

As long as islam is the way it is today, Women lower than dogs, Gay people executed, General medieval dark age behaviour, Basic staples of the arab ideology, Groups like ISIS etc... will continue to exist.

The whole ideology needs a reform like Christianity did otherwise it will never end and from I've seen of my countrymen in Germany who are teetering on the edge, It could cause some dangerous conflicts for all of us in the west which a lot of people including myself do not want.

Face it, Zoomee, very few trust your ideology, and a glance around the world at the societies it builds when it has power makes it painfully obvious why.

That's not what was clause was reported as:

If there's a canteen in that building then it would not surprise me at all to find that it only serves Halal food.

Yes, it was reported as such.

In shocking news, papers spin things.

The clauses will be little different to if a strong vegetarian rented out a building and specified that no one could sell meat on site.
Or if you were a pacifist and stated that the tenants could not be involved in the military or arms trade.

I suspect there are probably lots of leases that have a "no alcohol for sale" clause in London that have nothing to do with "Sharia" or Islam, as from memory the Quakers and Mormons don't approve of it (and thus might include it, then any alcohol or drugs abuse charity might apply it to buildings they rent out etc).

British contract law has allowed such clauses (and far sillier ones) for hundreds of years, as long as all the parties involved are in agreement and understand them.

No wonder you spew the nonsense you do if it's websites like that where you get your information from, where else do you browse?? InfoWars ??
Quality source and investigative journalism right there guys!

I'm sure Aaron Klein will be a great addition @ breitbart

Are you saying it's a complete lie?

I feel sorry for the guy that got threats from Islamic state supporters. And had to leave.

But if the clause says that the occupant must conduct their activities in accordance with Sharia law and the occupant agrees to that then that is perfectly legal too (apart from obvious stuff like stoning people to death). Sharia says that all food must be Halal, so presumably would govern what a canteen could and could not serve.

Yeh im still trying to work out if the clause says sharia law or just no alcohol and the people who dislike muslims are spinning it

Then all you have to ask yourself why the Qatar-based business wants to ban alcohol on the premises, is it because they is from a country that implements Sharia law or for Health & Safety reasons, i find it very unlikely it's Health & Safety reasons.

but that's not the same thing is it, its like when some said that we have sharia courts now in the UK,

well we dont unless you are a Muslim and agree to it, the sharia courts that operate in the UK are voluntary and have no power over anyone or trump UK law.

Is this the just another perversion of the facts to suite people that don't like Muslims?

same reason that loads of groups in the UK ban the sale of alcohol on their premiss.

Moral/ethical reasons, not wanting to be associated with it, not wanting to risk damage to their property/investment.
