No, but they'll let Israel do what it wants up to a certain point then ask them nicely to stop.

Honestly, I think the only way to stop Israel now would be for the Palestinians to round up Hamas fighters and hand them over. Not all of them support Hamas, but plenty of them will die because of what Hamas have done.

Good plan, if they have any sense they might try. Obviously Hamas would just start killing them instead though.

This is the type of thinking that led to initial attack in the first place.

I swear people will never learn that underestimating their adversary just because you want to dunk on someone or some misplaced confidence in your own intelligence is never a good thing.

What makes you think Hamas has underestimated their sole reason for existing?

They haven't, they will gladly sacrifice Gaza if it means more meat for a global jihad.

All of Hamas's big wigs aren't in Gaza whatsoever, it's just a chess piece to them.

Though I suppose it could be feasible they're that arrogant to believe Israel wouldn't go full throttle, I sincerely doubt it.

Hamas don't care about global jihad that much. Like many other aspects of religion, its used as political rhetoric. They want leadership and power because they think they know best for Palestinians, which unfortunately means doing stupid things like this.

Me? I would have no reason. Just using the screaming chants you typically see when watching all these videos because I have yet to see someone singing G-d Save the King, Les Marseilles or The Star Spangled Banner at the same time

Hamas was hoping to use them as human shields, but their treatment of the hostages, shown in videos and images around the world now, make a compelling case that a quick death from a missle strike is preferable to being a Hamas hostage.

I think Hamas has miscalculated this time.

The crisis actors are already out in force today. Lots of pictures of distraught men carrying children caked in dust and blood but no actual injuries. As par for the course

Just look up in the Mail for the photos. Won't post here because posting Mail links seems to trigger the left here

I mean it's gone way beyond that being Israel's concern, if it wasn't obvious. We're firmly in the '**** around and find out' phase.

No. The Arab and Islamic nations have never lifted a finger to defend the Palestinians. Some of them (e.g. Iran) don't mind sending money and weapons to fuel Palestinian attacks against Israel, but none of them want to join a war, because every time that happens, Israel kicks the crap out of them.

Even Iran—arguably the second most powerful state in the Middle East—doesn't want an all out battle with Israel, she'd rather fight via proxies like Hezbollah. Israel is powerful enough that she doesn't need US help to win.

Let’s be honest there’s going to be women and children getting blown up and covered in blood during all these strikes. They are massive, if you’ve seen any of it there is no way that innocent civilians are not going to get
Killed.

Let’s not try to minimise this, they are going to suffer due to Hamas actions.

We shouldn’t turn the other cheek to one type
Of atrocity simply because it is committed as an act of retribution for another.
