No. There was no such thing as 'Palestinians' at that time. 'Palestinian' is an identify invented in the 1960s for political purposes.

Yes, prior to 1947 the Jews were outnumbered in their land by a mixture of Arab tribes (I won't quibble over precise figures). This doesn't change the fact that it was still their land.

I debunked the former and you ignored it. There were movements of independence in the 1920s, an Arab uprising against the Turks in WW1 and Palestinian (of the region) Arab uprising in the early 1800s.

How exactly was it 'there land'? Because the Sky Daddy book said so? Or because the British government wanted to appeace rich Jewish bankers for loan deals?

BTW it isn't even their land 'historically' if you want to go pre-Roman. There were many other groups living in the region.

On the plus side defence stocks have gone. Never mind the people dying, losing limbs and whatnot. War always makes certain people richer.

I've got a couple of questions which got me banned from r/Britain on Reddit:

1) There is always this comparison with the creation of Israel being like giving Cornwall to the Jews. But there was a country called Judea mentioned in the Bible a few times, so isn't modern Israel built upon this original Jewish country?

2) Gaza is an open-air prison, in/out controlled by Israel. But there is also a land border with Egypt, so why can't people and goods travel via this route?

Not sure why these are so controversial so please educate me as Google has failed.

It's quite a confused picture historically.

There was a country (or at least kingdom) called Israel, and there was a separate country (or kingdom) called Judah.

Judea itself was a region surrounding (and including) Jerusalem, but not actually a country.

Jerusalem is in what was historically the kingdom of Judah rather than the kingdom of Israel.

Israel was sometimes called Samaria (or Shomron.)

It's suggested that there was a single king ruling both kingdoms for a time, but the evidence on that is disputed.

There's no point talking about 2000 year old claims on dirt.

The only thing that has ever resolved this is who has the biggest stick.

Things are changing though. Modern weapons and communication technology are force amplifiers. Kill one and it inspires two more. In the old days, a bit of genocide would have it sorted, done by the one with the biggest stick

1. What does it matter who lived there 2000 years ago? Are you willing to give up your house and F Off to Germany or France or Denmark because some Welsh and Scottish people owned the land before your ancestors moved in? And why are you taking the bible as a reliable source. The Old Testiment was a form of hate speech for the Jewish leaders in power at the time. We know historically many groups of people lived in Israel pre-Roman conquest. Post Roman the Jewish people moved on. And who knows how many other ethnicities made children with them.

2. Both Israel and Egypt oppress people living in Gaza.

But there are multiple examples whereby these ancient claims are upheld and protected today. Look at native Americans and Aborigines; surely Jews are entitled to their native homeland?
That's complicated. Not saying people shouldn't have somewhere to live, but native Americans and Aboriginals are racial groups with specific geographic origins, unlike Jews who are mostly caucasian.

Kind of doesn't apply if you're murdering civilians
Well that's the problem with this whole conflict isn't it?

It only needs a single video of some ultranationalist mob beating a kid to death on either side and well the distinction of civilian, terrorist and military disappears for some people.

1. So Might is Right, historical claims to stolen land need to be approved by Andrew Green.
2. What is it about Israel which draws much more hatred regarding Gaza than Egypt despite them both oppressing Palestinians? I can't put my finger on it.

My take on it is that Israel should drop a series of EMP's all over Gaza. That would knock out all forms of electronic communications i.e. rocket guidance systems or radios or mobiles phones etc. This would prevent or disable the rockets and degrade C3I. Would probably help reduce total casualties on both sides

It isn't call of duty.
