What exactly has Hamas acheived with this incursion? Surely when the dust has settled, it won't have been worth, not by a long shot. Madness.

Well, this is it. I was thinking exactly that when I say, some guy dancing on a tank with his sandals on and screaming "allahu akbar". He was having his five minutes of victory and celebration, but within a few days he and all of his family would most likely be dead. What did he achieve?

Pretty sure Israel's intended goal is to oust Hamas by force. Can't really do that in a truce.
Oh, I think they are going to march through Gaza killing everything that moves. I already heard one official saying they have no intention of taking prisoners.

We are hearing more from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
During his speech, he said that air strikes in Gaza were "just the beginning" and added that they would do "everything for Israelis held captive in Gaza".
He also called on the opposition parties to form a broad coalition government, after an attempt by the two biggest opposition party leaders failed on Saturday.

What about international hostages / your blowing some up in airstrikes.

I'm all for destroying Hamas but let's be cautious.

I don't think it's possible. That place is incredibly crowded and there will most likely be a random mix of civilians, hostages and terrorists. All of which look the same.

Sky news:
Hamas's armed wing has said it will start executing an Israeli captive for every new civilian house bombed without warning.

The announcement was made by the spokesman of the Qassam Brigades in audio released Monday night.

Abu Obeida claimed the group had, until now, been acting in accordance with "Islamic instructions" by keeping the Israeli hostages safe.

However, he blamed the group's intended move to execute the hostages on Israel's stepping-up of air strikes on Gaza City.

"We have decided to put an end to this and we declare that any targeting of our people in their homes without prior warning will be regrettably faced with the execution of one of the hostages of civilians we are holding," he said.

They'll kill them anyway...

They're a bunch of savages, spitting on and beating dead and unconscious women taken from the concert whilst parading them around for everyone to abuse

Israel are probably just as bad at times, the world would be better off without the middle east tbh. Everything seems to be backwards over there and human life has no value or meaning to any of them.

God knows why anybody from a developed western nation would visit places like that... Go to a place which has been pretty much at war for 2000 years and then act surprised when their concert gets caught up in it. It's hardly surprising and the stupidity of it annoys me

I'm coming from a place of ignorance on this but why does Jordan and Egypt get a pass when it comes to Palestine? They both gained ground that was going to be for Palestine, and haven't given it them back.

Gaza isn't locked in. Egypt has a border with them. Why can't Egypt open the border and help supply water and electricity, instead of having to rely on Israel?

So don't really expect to see this
FA will hold talks over whether to illuminate Wembley arch with the colours of Israel's flag during England's friendly against Australia amid concerns of a potential backlash following Hamas' terror attacks - FA are also considering staging a period of silence for victims on both sides

things change 2014
A pro-Palestine group projected the national flag on to the Houses of Parliament in London early this morning calling for an end to the bloodshed in Gaza.
The stunt was claimed by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), which said it projected the flag, complete with slogans including 'Free Palestine', 'Sanctions Now' and 'Stop the massacre', in an attempt to put pressure on the British government to take action.
But their protest, which came in the early hours as America and the United Nations jointly announced a 72-hour ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, was condemned by British Jews, who called it 'offensive to the British public' and accused the PSC of being motivated by a 'hatred of Israel'.
Meanwhile an east London mayor raised the Palestinian flag above the town hall for the second time after the first one was allegedly stolen.

If Hamas uses humann shields many will die.

Israel is coming for Hamas. If Hamas thought they could hind behind human shields, I think they made a gross miscalculation this time.

Because everyone likes to hate on Israel. That's about it really.

Decent source, In some respects it wouldn't be the biggest surprise it does feel generally that the Israeli military thought this kind of attack was beyond the capability of Hamas. Its also does no harm to Netanyahu's attempts to stay in power given his ongoing troubles.

I think you know better than to use very loud people to speak for populaces.

Granted there's a lot of very loud people surrounding Israel-Palestine, but I still think most people would rather it not be an issue that requires bombs flying.
