I really hope innocent Palestinians heed the warning and are able to evacuate to safer areas. Do many of them even have transport?

''The United Nations has said is it "impossible" for Palestinians to move to the south of Gaza in the next 24 hours, after citizens were ordered to evacuate by Israel's military.
Israel's military issued the evacuation order, in its strongest hint yet that it prepares to launch a ground offensive almost a week after Hamas's surprise assault.
UN officials in Gaza "were informed by their liaison officers in the Israeli military that the entire population of Gaza north of Wadi Gaza should relocate to southern Gaza within the next 24 hours," UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement in New York.
"This amounts to approximately 1.1 million people," he added, or nearly half of Gaza's 2.3 million population.
Mr Dujarric said the UN "considers it impossible for such a movement to take place without devastating humanitarian consequences".
It came after the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said "this evacuation is for your own safety", but in response, Hamas has called the warning "fake propaganda" and urged Palestinians "not to fall for it".
The UN has appealed for the order to be rescinded to avoid "what could transform what is already a tragedy into a calamitous situation".

Would they risk our special forces in Gaza to rescue hostages, or be more of a stand off intelligence role?

I'm not entirely sure Israel is thinking that far ahead at the moment, just deal with the scum who attacked them last Saturday. I'm sure they realise the attacks will never stop, but at least it won't be from this particular lot. I hope they send their death squads after the Hamas leaders hiding away in other countries too.

The force has seen a "massive increase" in antisemitic incidents in London in the last week.
"Offences ranging from intimidating people in front of synagogues, people playing German military music in front of Jews, or people laughing and celebrating the deaths in Israel," the Met said in a statement.
A spokesperson said there is a "significant level of concern" in the Jewish community and people are "genuinely scared".
In 2022, there were 14 antisemitic incidents and 12 offences recorded by the Met.
This year, there have been 105 antisemitic incidents and 75 offences.
A rise in Islamophobic incidents has also been reported, but on a much smaller scale, the Met said.
Thousands of people are expected to attend a pro-Palestinian march in London tomorrow.
The Met has warned any expression of support for Hamas - either a flag or behaviour - will be a criminal offence.
Having a Palestinian flag will not be considered an offence, but people will be arrested if their behaviour incites or supports violence...''

I don't think anywhere is 'safe' is it? At least in WW2 they could try and get to a safe country, now wherever they go the people wanting to kill them are probably already there.
