It didnt take them long - Fans fighting.

I've just watched number of videos on the daily fail. Putting bravado to one side the scenes of what those Russian ultras are doing are horrendous. How any human can do this to another is quite beyond me. It's sick.

Were they also defending themselves from the Police by throwing bottles at them? Don't just concentrate on one aspect of recent events and use it to vindicate the behaviour of people who we should all still condemn.

Not seen much of that, I know some young lad was jailed for throwing a plastic bottle at police, more idiotic than dangerous, but the main aspect of the violence is gangs of marauding Russian thugs kicking crap out of any English fan they find, with impunity it seems.

wonder if we'l get more roving reporting by stan the man this time.

It would seem so. Just watch his latest following a large crowd of English fans roaming the streets looking for Russians and eventually being tear gassed by French Police due to behaviour.

So it's OK to be a hooligan as long as you don't do it in the stadium, is that what you are saying.

I think that's the football authorities get out of trouble card, they have no responsibility or remit outside a stadium, it's like me punching someone sat next to me at work for liking a different team.. legally you have to draw a line of responsibility somewhere. Yes the football authorities should be very active in what is very clearly a football related issue, but ultimately, how far does their responsibility extend to civil unrest and rioting in the streets?

I can only see two solutions for a hosting country or a loca authority for football games, just don't host them, or have a better prepared police force, paid for by the football institutions, and ultimately the fans, to be very heavy handed with any disorderly conduct.

There was a video showing a Russian just punching a random guy walking home with a bags of shopping in the face (a French local I assume), knocking him out. Also mobbing young fans and families with kids. They are attacking anyone they can, not just England fans.

Football hooligans fighting each other is one thing, but going out of the way to attack random pedestrians who are nothing to do with it is another. Even the English ones don't do that. The Russians have gone beyond football thuggery and what they are doing is closer to terrorism.
