Italian Grand Prix 2011, Monza Circuit - Race 13/19

Looks like it. What do you think of them using more down force on the rear wing and hoping the DRS will help?

Makes me nervous as they seem to do things differently like this & doesn't always work out. Sometimes think just doing the same as the others will be better. We'll see :)

I agree. They did the same at Spa giving up straight line speed so they was faster in the twisty part and that never paid off.

K Chandhok having no luck again :(

Still very early in the weekend atm, can easily change. Having 2 DRS zones will make teams consider more wing.

Force India also have a new nose which has got rid of their unique 'chin'.

Merc rear wing is super skinny, gonna win the straight line test I reckon.

GP2 last year actually removed the upper plane of the rear wing in it's entirety. Just left the beam wing in place. Looked really odd, but they were certainly rapid.

Traditionally, it is the smallest wings possible at Monza, but with the DRS zones and during qualifying DRS being allowed anywhere, it's worth the risk of more downforce during the free practice.

When you get to Mercedes level though, what you are pretty much looking at there is the DRS flap.

Can't believe Lotus are still having reliability issues.

edit: FIA may make Pirelli's max suggested camber angle mandatory and against rules to go over that limit.

Just texted a friend at the track who wanted to know what happened to Heikki.

Unfortunately autocorrect reared it's ugly head. Told him that "Heikki lost 2nd gear and has stopped at the Lesbo's"

His response. "Who wouldn't. :-)"

:D

Bit early and ambitious to say... But things are looking good! McLaren 1-2 please!

Quite surprised to see their times at the top of the board considering the mammoth size of their rear wing compared to the other teams. Maybe the sidepods are showing their worth!
