It's snowing

When we had that white out a few years back (Jan 2010?) I lol'd so much at all the high performance cars stranded at the side of the road when I was driving 14 year old white Saxo which had little skinny tires...i just trundled passed all the Lexus's, BMW's, Merc's. That car was so amazing in the snow it was dubbed my Little War Horse by my Grandad :D I miss that car :(

lol, the fact that its a saxo means its light and slow..

skinny tyres help a lot in snow too! so basically.. you had a good car to drive on snow :D

Stone, Staffordshire.

About 3 of those have come down since about 9am and it's still coming down heavy.

I ventured out in my Vivaro and trundled happily about but there is definitely a bread shortage locally. No Hovis! However, I did get a lovely Taw Valley Cheddar loaf from the Co-op :).

On the way home I have to come up an incline that hasn't been treated and watched a Vectra failing to make it up and struggling to back up and turn around. I whole-heartedly agree about the problem of people not knowing how to drive in snow.

Just started snowing fairly lightly in Cambridge. There's no snow on the ground from the week but the snow is settling - hopefully it won't settle too well as we've got a couple of journeys to make tonight.

Went into work, half an hour late we got advised to go home.

There's like 10 people in the office, everyone will just work from home..

Made it to work, took an hour and 20 mins, not a pleasant journey, roads were rubbish. First one into work (I live 6 miles away) manager and colleague had phoned me to say they couldn't get in. Phoned a few families that needed contacting to cancel appointments, and then manager phoned to say go home.

Took 40 mins to get home, roads a bit better as it had warmed up a couple of degrees, couldn't get up my road cos it's on a hill, two lads thankfully ran down and pushed me up, now not going out all day!

One kitten likes the snow and is running about like a loon, the other is not so keen and keeps chatting away to me, as if to say "what is it Mummy?" :D

Still snowing quite heavily here in the Forest of Dean.

My dad left for work at 6:40 this morning and for a few hours was the only car to go down the road we live on. Then the usual 4x4 idiot who lives up the road went speeding down the hill and then came back up a few minutes later. I think he likes to do that to make a point, but he's just dangerous and inconsiderate as there are kids playing in the middle of the road not expecting any vehicles in this sort of weather, especially doing the speed this 4x4 idiot likes to do.

The snow is building up the windows from the outside window ledge now which I haven't seen before and the tracks left by my dad and the 4x4 idiot have long disappeared. I'm glad that I notified work I wouldn't be in this morning as I'd definitely struggle getting home because there are quite a few steep hills along my route to work. We've apparently still got three more hours of this heavy snow before it stops for a few hours then restarts as light snow again.

Going snowboarding tomorrow :) just hope that the flight won't be cancelled, started snowing this morning in London so anything can happen in the next 24 hours :(
