It's too hot :(

I don't ever remember a forecast with numbers like this for us up North

Still grim tho

bought a portable AC in anticipation of that 37 weather. 30 was bad enough so I pulled the trigger.
Installed with the hose fitting perfectly out the cat flap.

Damn the comments didn't lie, the thing is noisy af. But seems to cool well and will get battle tested next week.

I‘ve found the trick isn’t to set the desired temperature too low and have the fan on medium speed for best balance between cooling efficiency and low noise.

If the room is 27°and you set the A/C for 18°, it’s going to be running flat out forever.

it's like 2c (is there a degree little circle key?) less today which is nice.

here's my question...
28c or -28c what would you prefer, forever! lol
i'm guessing -28c is worse long term than 28? think
i'd go with 28c. it's an ok sci-fi movie where everyone is
in unerpants all the time. :D

Even for a mushroom like me that's not even a question. The benefits of living in a climate which is permanently 28C grossly outweigh those of a climate which is permanently -28C.

I don't think I've ever seen 35-37C actually forecast before on the BBC weather page or even on the TV for around where I live...

Not usually - you can enter the ° symbol on some systems by holding down the alt key while typing 0176 on the numpad (not number keys above qwerty).
