Be wary of this, older systems will maintain a tank of hot water to use on demand even when there's no demand.

More worried for our 15 year old dog, he’s already nearing the end of his life. Someone mentioned buying some watermelon and having it in the fridge to try and help him stay hydrated, without seeds and rind obviously.

No the same settings as throughout the winter I don't ever touch it.

My dog likes watermelon, so maybe a few small chunks could keep your dog hydrated.

The BBC saying 40 degrees and the Met Office and Accu weather both saying 35. That's quite a difference. Are the bbc really that bad these days for forecasting?

They don't do the forecasting, they get it from a third party. Trust the Met Office.

Not sure what to expect tbh the only time I have been worried by heat is on my Camino on the mesata section where your water supply Vs weight carried was critical as no civilization for many miles

The highest it got in 1976 was 35.9c
