It's too hot :(

I kind of wish they just predict better they always underestimate these things, today I thought was hell on earth turns out its a whole 3 degrees hotter, going to bed tonight was a massive 5 degrees hotter now at 27, not getting any sleep what so ever and tomorrow now gone up 2 more degrees, thursday was 17 now 20, weekend was lovely and cool at 19 the other day now 26 by time it gets around probably going to be 35 again no doubt, what in the living eff is going on, why say its off to be miles cooler than it actually is going to be. Summer is so depressing when you have no means to afford air conditioning in your home.

Yep reminded me of stepping out the hotel in the morning to catch a taxi to the office in Riyadh.

Popped to the shop earlier and there was a nice breeze.

I mean from today's peak to early morning tomorrow it's going from 38c to 19c. I predict a lot of people are going to feel very ill with that 19c change!

Yeah I'm going to feel it. Will likely be jumper weather for a few days at least!

Once you get used to the temperature AC just creates more issues as your body is constantly having to adjust between hot and cold.
I don't believe this. I think my body is held at a more stable temperature all day than those without.

Also, I spent a good 10+ years working in a Supermarket, going in and out of chillers and freezers all day... how do you suggest it has detrimentally affected me?

The only issue with portable air cons (other than the noise I'd get from units in my budget) is the hose - you need to have it out of the window meaning it needs to be open letting in noise and/or warm air from outside meaning you then have to run the unit harder/longer to counteract that, and also the hose is very hot, so the hose run itself is adding heat back into the room, again something that must be counteracted.

I could installed a tumble dryer outlet in the wall of rooms I'd probably use it in, but then comes the issue of sealing that for the winter...

30 all night in the bedroom, had a pedestal fan blowing on us all night. Garden was 27 at 8am in the shade, and is now already 30, gonna be scorchio

People actually pay money for relaxing holidays in these temps, that boggle my mind, what is relaxing, fair do's they probably have air conditioning but I can't get my head around as its too warm to do anything other than be in a pool.

Says we are hotter than the sahara, can someone explain how this is even possible. My mashed up lack of sleep brain can't work it out, how is this heat travelling so far and not losing temp

Helped my neighbour inflate her flat tyre enough to drive the half mile to the tyre place. Not the thing that you want to do in this weather in 28c heat at 8am

Did you have air con if not how did you sleep in that or didn't you, I just don't fall to sleep in hot weather, luckily last night with us was 22 and managed but 30 isn't possible for my body.

Not at all. I'm just suggesting getting acclimatised and adjusting is more effective. However it's sort of hard to acclimatise in this country as the temperature is temperate most of the time and the extremes are short lived.

Having lived in hot countries without the use of AC you do become quite used to it and cope with little issue. That's not to say you don't find it hot, but you're able to deal with it probably somewhat more easily. I believe your physiological response changes to adapt to it. Like blood pressure blood plasma etc...

Can you believe this my neighbour yesterday in 35 degrees sat in front garden, not back in direct sunlight sunbathing, I was gobsmacked, with skin cancer risk I didn't think anyone sunbathed in heat like that still.

No idea if the contents of the affected chillers/freezers are back in. Otherwise it’s moans from people who don’t understand about fridges and heat.

The chillers and freezers maintenance companies must love hot weather as nearly all the supermarkets have at least one of these playing up. Even Iceland had all its freezers and chillers out. So only could buy ambient stuff- bread, sauces, tins and pop.

They come with backdraft kits, though not sure how effective they are. I've been looking into it myself.

I seemed to do surprisingly well last night. Garmin registered 3h29m deep sleep and 4h50m light sleep which is about the same as always for me.
