Mine all went to school as they should, water, hats and sun cream they be fine.Managed a few hours sleep last night, definitely warming this morning on my way to work and the office was boiling at 5:30. Managed to finish at 9:30 so missing the worst of the heat, wanted to get some ice to see if ice water in front of the fan actually works but shops were rammed and couldn’t be bothered to queue.

Yep like many other parent did yesterday, mine went in yesterday but many children complained of the heat in the classrooms. School told us to, if we wanted, keep them off today as it will be hotter. My eldest is autistic and has severe episodes if he gets too hot or too cold. Its hard to maintain his core temperature at home let alone at school. The middle kids nursery class had to teach out side due to the room reading over 50c at 1pm yesterday. Don't forget children can't regulate their core like adults can.You kept the kids of school because its too hot
I also, didn't want to take out my youngest with the skin condition at 8:30am for the school run when it was 27c.
It is abnormal for this weather, I have to protect my children. Good for you and your kids going to school, I would have taken mine in if it wasn't for the 3 reasons I stated above.

Gonna be ridiculous today, was 28c at 9:30am and now 29c. Felt like abroad, where the heat and humidity just hits you as soon as you open door.

Reminds me of the summer holiday we took to the US and Canada in 1991. We started off in Florida so we could go to the Kennedy Space Centre to see a shuttle take off. We were in self catering accomodation and the building was air conditioned. Mum and I walked out of the building to go the car and when we opened the door of the buildng we were hit by the heat and humidity. Wasn't expecting it and had never experienced anything like that, before or since! Was an eye opener to how some parts of the states must be in summer.

Got my AC unit installed last week for the home office. Left the bedroom door open and have a fan blowing cold air from the office to the bedroom. Shut the windows and was cool enough all night. Wife complained it was too cold 
This sparks flash backs of when the missus and I walked out of the lovely and cool Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Vietnam.
Felt like getting smacked in the face by a burning cricket bat.
Texas is hot - I got sunburn on my 2nd day - it was overcast and I had long sleeved shirt on but it still burnt my arms.
It's 33c out side now - might have to turn heating off if this keeps up
Yea I did texas in August about 8 years back, around 37c I recall.
This morning is already notably hotter than yesterday. Later is going to be horrendous. At least it is only 1 more day. Thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow
Same. I remember being at a baseball game and it was 110f.
It was like an oven. That was just over my limit.
A lovely couple were chatting to me and at end bought me a memorabilia bag. Obviously with an English accent I drew attention.

Yep, that's it. Walking out innocently when you get smacked in the face. If you're not expecting it or not used to it, it comes as a shock.
Agreed. Yesterday I was able to keep cool for most of the day by working in a different part of the house but trying to sleep with all the windows and doors shut was uncomfortable as the fan was just spreading warm air around.
As the temperature didn't drop much over night and has reached the 35oC quicker than yesterday it feels like yesterday afternoon/evening already. Looking forward to 8/9pm when the temps should start to drop and make sleeping easier.
