It's too hot :(

Its just right!
Too hot for biking though.

Quite possibly went for my first outdoor road ride before midday this year earlier just after 1030, took it super easy, freewheeling on every bit of descent. A few welcome shady rural lanes, ~15 miles over 70mins, was ~25C when I left and now ~31C.

Went for a walk at lunch and it was surprisingly nice, as there was a decent breeze. Wearing a cap did help, which I rarely wear, but I'd have ended up drenched without it.

Oh blimey, just heard the amber weather warning for whole of UK, things look to really get even hotter from tomorrow onwards, I think it might break September record from 1906 west yorks of 35.6C.

The cool nights sadly have gone also for us tomorrow it hello to humid no sleepers sweatfests for a while and tomorrow nights forcasted to be hottest Sep night on record.

Run out of lettuce.

Why do people think that the only thing to eat when it’s hot is salad? Do the people living in hot countries live on salad? No they don’t.

You can have salads without lettuce by using white cabbage or baby spinach as an alternative. Or do a lettuce less salad - tomato, cucumber, spring onion, celery, peppers, radish.

Plus there are cold dishes to have instead. Some nice cheese and some nice bread?

Shows you how stubborn people are

Here according to the forecast drops back to 19c next Tuesday and might be the last of it , and the nights are drawing in

Cant believe you’re actually moaning about people being stubborn for buying lettuce for their salads. Plumbing new depths now

We actually just ploughed ahead with running the portable unit overnight in the bedroom and as it turns out we can mostly sleep through it :D wasn’t a great sleep but probably better than it would have been without it
I just set ours to 2 hours, it's just the falling asleep bit that's difficult when it's hot. Set it to 23c as well.

Yeah hope you're right, but still next tuesday with lots of hot nights is a long way off lol, the nights drawing in won't shift hot air as they are forecasting really tropical nights.

But as we've seen when there's a heatwave, they tend to overstay and usually underestimated in forecasts, I looked on Sunday two days ago and hottest for us was 24 now its 29 and no mention of hot nights either on Sunday now 5 hot nights in a row, so next Tuesday I would take with a pinch of salt sadly.

While there is a big downwards trend still for the second half of the month, this current heat does looks to be intruding further and lasting longer than forecast - with the odd day going into October even possibly hitting 30C somewhere in the UK.

in the 80's and 90's a heatwave would have been 32c+ i'm at 27c ?? so whats the deal ???

That it is September heat rather than June/July of the 80s and 90s? next 5 days here are forecast to hit 29C - with 30+ probably being the reality if the last couple of days are anything to go by.

I'll find out next week it's the only reason I ain't moaning about it if it's only for short time
