It's too hot :(

So everyone moaning about the sun previously...is this SERIOUSLY what you prefer?

What a terrible ass 'summer'. Not being able to go outside in fear of getting soaking wet, in what is supposed to be the hottest part of the year is nothing to be happy about.

It's England, there is always something to moaning about. People are never happy.

Wait till November/December when the "It's too cold : (" thread comes alive.

Yep, would take this weather over the hot sticky sun any day of the week!

House feels cosy when it's crap outside, work feels cosy when it's crap outside and I'm at a comfortable temperature and can sleep at night, what's not to like?

Roll on the 'it's too cold :(' thread :D

Yeah I understand that, women tend to want heating on early, for me my heating normally is only on when outside temps drop below about 3-4C otherwise I just layer up and its comfortable enough. Indoor temp wise probably about if I remember right about 12-13C as the threshold.

I have no thermostat system, so I do it manually, hence me not been able to just check a thermostat to see what it is set to.

As west as you can be without being classed north west I guess. Previous years, whilst not being spectacular, have been much better than this summer.

Pretty much responded with what I was going to reply with to the first quote. The south east pretty much has a different climate to the rest of this island. Every once in a while you lot share it with the rest of us. :D

Exactly the same here with the exception of lots and lots of rain. Yesterday peaked at 14c and dropped to 8c overnight and it's looking like a similar day today.

I haven't seen so many coats/jackets and umbrellas during the summer season in quite a while.

Yeah, we have had rain here probably for about 60% of the days in past 2 weeks, its light rain for 10 min spells every 3-4 hours. If we get rain here, it usually means the west of the country has a "LOT" of it.

When you guys get floods and I see on tv roads turned into rivers, we normally have light showers.

For storms during heatwaves, usually we just continue the heatwave and dry weather whilst brighton or wales is been bombarded with a storm.

Most summers the south east is hotter than the canary islands.

Heating switched on for the third morning in a row today even after lowering the trigger temperature after the first morning. Not gonna lie, it was welcomed as our bathroom feels chilly until around midday as of late.

13c right now in mid August. Scorcher.... :(

Heating on LOL. What a bunch of wimps :D

Yeah temperature has definitely dropped I'll have to shut the windows at this rate!

Except it never does get "too cold" in this country, not anymore at anyrate. Even a frost is a rarity these days.

nice change from the constant sun weve had down here ,didnt even have to struggle for a free parking space at new polzeath yesterday for an extended bodyboarsd session ,also not messing around with hose pipes ,having said that tuesday was quite sunny ,walked from holywell bay to st agnes and back and had a nice kindle read in the sun
big fan of free parking especially since i joined the ranks of the unemployed
not a great pic just showing overcast but dry

Its cool for the UK recent average, but heating?

Room temps is 24.3C right now, way way above what I would turn the heating on for, wearing a t-shirt.

Generally room temps needs to be in low teens for me to consider it. Which means outside needs to be probably under 5C.

This weather and temps is about right for me.

We've just had the hottest July on record, the world has just had the hottest July on record. What are you on about!?

For like 2 days and the rest was rain! you must understand that heat does not equal sunshine, right? like you cant be serious....
met office quote:
"During July, Cheshire received more than twice the average rainfall for the month (219%). Other counties in central and northern England, including Lancashire, Staffordshire Derbyshire and Leicestershire, also received more than one-and-a-half times the month’s typical rainfall for July."
