iTunes Match is live...

Whenever I play a song on my phone, it has to download the cover art, then I have to back out to the tracklist and then hit the "Now Playing" button for the art to show. It seems to save the art for that track from that point onwwards, but it doesn't fix it for all tracks in the album.

A quick google suggests it might be down to oversized album art and a resize to 50x50 will fix it, but as I have an iPad that shows album art in full screen, a 50x50 image would look terrible blown up to fit the screen.

It's a real pain!

Doesn't work on my iPhone either, I'm getting problems where it thinks the song is download, but doesn't play it, it just skips over it.

For now I've disabled match on my iPhone and just sticking with it on my mac, where it actually works well.
 
Does anyone have a problem with smart playlists that have a limit set on them? For example creating a top 40 smart playlists where it is limited to 40 tracks by most played works in iTunes but my iOS devices just show thousands of tracks. Tried iTunes on two different machines and restoring my iPad but still the same problem.

Smartlists are broken on iOS devices with iTunes match at the moment. Hopefully will be fixed this year...
 
Anyone else having a problem with iTunes getting stuck on step 2?

My main pc and htpc have the same problem (not at the same time before anyone asks)

I left the htpc on all night and it was just stuck matching the same track all night??

I've tried everything, signed in/out reinstalled iTunes and nothing works. Help I'm stuck.

my experience is that with files greater than about 50mb it struggles to do anything with them except continually try and upload and hang. Mine wasn't working at all as I had lots of files over 100mb, I removed those and it all worked fine. Which reminds me to try again with them one by one.

I've upped 100's of songs already well over 50mb, it just seems to have came to a halt on step 2 in the last few days, very weird! I'm sure it ties in with the fact they just launched the service in a number of other countries.
 
Just subscribed to Match and not impressed so far.. currently uploading 9520!! files, only matched 3348.

That's rubbish.

Does it ever re-check the files, or once it's done the initial scan is that it?

It's very strange.. sometimes only picking up 1 or 2 songs from an entire Album.. :(

I've had this for a couple of months now, still honestly don't see the point in it. Yeah i've had the odd occasion on the road where i've fancied listening to an album that i've not got on my iPhone... So it's worked there. Otherwise, all the hassle and effort of getting everything uploaded correctly just wasn't worth it!
 
I ripped a slightly scratched CD that had two unplayable tracks today. Annoyingly ITunes matched all the tracks bar the two broken ones, which it uploaded. Downloaded the album to my phone and the tracks still skipped all over the place.

Doubt I'll continue subscription past the year if I've managed to rip and match/upload all my albums. Can't see any benefit to it as I generally purchase via ITunes now anyway, bar imports that I can't get on the EU store.
 
Does anyone else have problems with upload speeds? I've added some new tracks and it seems to only upload one every 15 mins or so.. VERY slow..
 
Well, it looks like the latest update to iTunes has actually cleared my iTunes match status and I had to re-activate the Match on my Laptop, which also means it's going through the entire detection and uploading process again.. It took 3 days last time :(

Not impressed..

Sometimes, other times no.

I've finally got iTunes match to work constantly with my iPhone though, I had to set it up as a new phone with the latest GM seed 5.0.1 as 5.1b3 has decided that iTunes match doesn't work.
Now songs that download, stay downloaded.
 
I want it because I sync only a limited number of songs to my iphone and i like to listen through my macbook air when I am on the road. My itunes folder is not on my macbook air - it is on my home pc. So, at work I would have access to my entire music collection using this and I could listen through my laptop rather than my iphone.

Says it is not available in the uk store though ...
 
Although not without some issues such as where a song would say it's playing but I cannot hear anything (which makes me think my embarrassing tunes may be blasting out of the speakers instead on a packed tube!), or it says it's playing one track when in actual fact I can hear the next track on the list, thus forcing me to force close it, I have to say it's still worth the £21.99 I paid.

Whenever I have to restore my MacBook Pro, iPhone or iPad, I don't have to copy all my tracks over again but I still have access to every track, thus saving me so much storage space. For example, I recently just upgraded my MBP's hard drive to an SSD and I only have 10GB left on my Mac OS X partition but I can still stream and download any song I like.

Another example is where I can log over to Boot Camp, and still have access to the same tracks and playlists on iTunes there without having to redo my library etc.
 
Finally thought I'd give iTunes Match a go, but it's taking ages to upload my library (6000ish mp3's)

Mainly because I have to do it through my iPhones internet connection, for some reason I can't use Windows Update or iTunes match through my normal ethernet connection I keep getting errors saying the store is unavailable, even though theres nothing wrong with it
