Oh and MrRockliffe. The guy was the manager of the industrial park, not of xcade. He's also out of pocket from missed rent and equally annoyed. Will look at action fraud thanks.

Ah okay, my bad. Deffo look into it. I would check out AVForums disputes section in the classifieds - a few people have had success going through action fraud, so it may be worth getting in touch with them to ask about how they did it etc

Hmm i have an xcade and had no problems. Although i want through the reseller and waited 8+ weeks as a leadtime.

Where are you based?
Yeah people that bought through Arcadeworld, extreme hardware on Ebay etc. had no issues other than a wait. Seems he's shut up shop for whatever reason and tried to take as much with him as he can.

Based in Herts.

i'm sure other people are not as well-off as you to be so blase about losing over two hundred quid.

He's well off enough to be sending some bloke he doesn't know £225 for an arcade machine he doesn't need. It's not going to be easy or cheap to get the money back, even if he goes to court and wins the half the time hardcore scammers still won't pay.

That's the weird thing though. He's run a business quite sucessfully it seems for at least a couple of years and has the best selling cabinet on the most known arcade parts supplier in the UK. I admit it was foolish to send a direct payment as it's left me with little to no options, but I was in communications with the guy for a while and he seemed to be trying to expand etc. As I said, live and learn I should have known better really. I'm certainly not the only one he's done it to having read up on things.

I presume if you go through small claims, he'll get a notification of it, if he doesn't turn up at court then they'll take on the recovery themselves.

Probs a waste of time if he's shut the business down? I mean assuming it is a ltd company and he's not operating as a sole trader.

Okay I've found him and the running to France story is clearly BS. He's closed down the old website and is now operating under the name "Arcade evolution". He's gone from selling only arcade kits with xplates, which is basically 2mm plexiglass with the graphics printed on the inside (they are the only people in the world that do this) to selling fully loaded arcades including PCs, games, joysticks and buttons etc.

Here's the link which descibes xplates without calling them xplates which is how I know it's them, aside from the cabs being identical of course.

Even the model numbers are similar, i.e B19C to AE19B as well as U24S to AE24U.

They seem to be operating out of Sutton Coldfield now.

Was the payment to a business account or his personal account.
I’d ring him.
If he doesn’t want to xfer and process your order or refund you, then small claims against him directly if it was a personal account.

Small claims. Cite him personally. If he doesn't pay he will get a CCJ which will really hurt him more than repaying £225
