January Transfer Rumours

This is the same site that claimed he signed on Friday. Seems odd to reject that kind of money when he could sign for a fee decided by a tribunal.

Tomas Rosicky agent has been talking up a move to Hiighbury.

If we were to sign him it would just leave a center half to bring in really, but then again will Arsene rely on Senderos and Djourou for cover?

Well a little shocked that we have not signed Theo Walcott as to me it seemed a dead cert, after Arsene almost giving it way they he was already signed up....

As for the price tag, thats crazy, this guy is what?... 16 years old and Soton turned down a £12m offer

Well unless Wenger has someone else he hasnt spoken about yet or this is rubbish talk, we shall see.

It's not £12m up front though. Arsenal offered £2m up front, Saints wanted £5m.

I reckon Saints are just playing hardball because Chelsea are prepared to pay more. However it seems the player would rather move to Arsenal due to his idolisation of Henry and worries about his career stagnating at Chelsea in the way it has happened for other English youngsters like Johnson, Bridge, Parker and SWP.

Souness is after gregory vignal from portsmouth who isnt getting many games there :o , maybe some liverpool fans can tell me how good or bad he is , one thing is for sure he cant be worse than babayaro or elliott :p .

Vignal is nothing outstanding however he is a reasonably steady player , I would much rather us have kept him and sold Traore

He only rarely got a game at Liverpool

Marcus Bent to Charlton from Everton for £2m, rising to £2.5m depending on appearences etc. Decent player, runs his socks off, just not a goalscorer and that's what we need right now. Good bit of business for Everton, that's at least a £1.5m profit on him.

Quite incredible that those players would stagnate at Chelsea, especially considering combined they are pushing £50m! Inredible that Chelsea can afford to waste so much.

Buying Portsmouths reserves.
Great

Theo Walcott going to Arsenal would be just as pointless as him going to chelsea, Wenger is never going to risk playing a 16 year old kid in an important match, the best thing he could do for his own development is either stay where he is or got to a smaller prem side where he will see some football. Look how much Rooney benefited from his time at Everton and how much players like Pennant, jeffers and Johnson haven't benefited from playing in Arsenal/Chelsea reserves.

He'd certainly get more games in the English cups, but he'd be way down the pecking order for the big games - out of the 4 forward spots (strikers/wingers) at Arsenal, I'd say there'd be at least 8 players ahead of him in the queue.

While I'd like us to sign good players, we have such a hideous excess of attacking talent that we just don't need a player like Walcott, when money is tight and there are other areas of the team which need attention.
