January Transfer Rumours

I have a lot of respect for Sheringham and to be still playing at 39 is incredible in the Premiership. It is tragic the way Fowler has turned out, I hated him during his early Liverpool career because he always scored against us, but that didn't stop me from admiring him as a player. When did it all go wrong for him? I'd say the same about Lee Sharpe as well, class player when first on the scene for us, then Ferguson got rid of him for being a lad and going out drinking all night. In many ways he was a better player than Giggs but no commitment to football.

Fowler undoubtedly had issues, injuries also took their toll, then Mr Houllier also took a dislike to the lad, i was absolutely gutted when we sold him,but houllier wanted to keep owen happy at all times and tailored the team around, thus no place for robbie, I said then that Owen would pee on us (which he did really).

Undoubtedly robbie had the potential, his finishing was fantastic.I would say he is much like gerrard, take him out of liverpool and he would be rubbish.

Erm, has Mr Warnock lost it? not only paying 1.75 mil for a 31 year old Akinbiyi, but also getting Bruce Dyer (or is that Dire ;)) in off us (Stoke)

he sure does like his strikers, having a look at their squad list they have Danny Webber, Neil Shipperley, Steve Kabba, Jonathan Forte, Luke Beckett, Brian Deane, Gary Mulligan, Colin Marrison, Hao Haidong, Ade Akinbiyi, Bruce Dyer all as strikers now.

Bruce Dyer is there till the end of the season and what a donkey he is, i remeber him back at Barnsley and he was utter tonk! Not so sure abe Ade 1.75 seems an awful lot for a player who is known to be rubbish, hes scored a few this season so you never know!!!

1.75m for a 31 year old is a helluva lot in the championship.... I'd have thought he would like to go for someone with some potential to improve over the years.

1.75 million for Akinbiyi?
ROFL he isnt worth £1.75 let alone near on 2 million!
I wouldnt be exagerating if i said their where people in wheelchairs who are better footballers than Adi Akinbyi.

i remeber when peter taylor paid 5 million for akinbiyi. 1.75 is a lot for a 31 year old who has failed in the premiership, although you could argue jason roberts did also bvut when he returned he is doing the business. in my opinion this move could be sheff utd downfall assuming they go up - they need to invest in young decent prospects now so that when they go up they can get decent experience and try to stay up - seems they are too concerned with trying to get to the prem (akinbiyi with his power will score goals in the physical championship) that it may backfire.... cameron jerome would have been a better option in the long run; i can see leeds having a similar problem if they get up. reading on the other hand look similar to wigan

do you think we will see any more big signings ?

Am worried for Liverpool's case, with Simao ruling out a move till the Summer, and no news on a right winger (though Toni has reported a bid for him) and no striker, we could be struggling.

Ideally another center back, a right winger and a striker should join, but i can't see that any more.

Dissapointed

On a lighter note i got my Wolves V Man Utd tickets today :D \o/

Cue the fistycuffs with the gold and black Mrs G|mp :o

Akinbiyi is 1 off being joint top scorer in the Championship this season so he's obviously on form & S.U. need only about 20 points from 16 games I reckon to get in to the PL. So a £1.75m gamble is nothing compared to what promotion will bring. He's not good enough for the PL, but they can always dump him when/if they get there:)

LoL

Shes kinda spanish looking all dark and sultry, but still a Wolves n00b

She dont mind Man Utd V anyone else but draws the line when its the yam yams
