January Transfer Rumours

...and there is troble for defences. He takes a lot of defensive effort to keep under controll leaving a lot of space for everyone else to do damage.
But your asuming that everyone at International level that he'd play against is like a Premiership defender.
Dont get me wrong, he's good at what he does, making space for his partner. But put him against a defence that has at least one very good defender, and he's not that much of a handful.
He'd struggle against Terry, Puyol, Nesta, Maldini, Stam, Alex, ect;

Why is crouch getting such a slating. Crouch is a very good player.

I never said he was bad, but he's not 'very good', however he does have a use. Saying that, if I was 8'20'' I would have practiced my heading.

freshy reckons he's off to the WC :)

not exactly true that though is it? i actually said he could make it to the world cup and that i would take him - not exactly the same as reckoning he is going. i would def take him as long as he performs like he did for a poor norwich team. we shall see...

lol it was meant to be transfer story of the year in the sun according to a couple of people on radio. Also heard it could be Fowler back to liverpool. Neither of which would exactly be story of the year IMO.

I would love to see him play past his 40th birthday in the Premiership. He's a phenomenal player, and I am honoured to have had him play for my club.

Assuming thats the origonal fowler, not the fat lazy one that would be great. Unfortunately its the latter so they can keep him. What a waste of genuine talent, I meant there is still the odd flourish, but he was VERY good. So much potential, did he wake up one day with a sore foot and decide he couldent be ***** with this football lark?

I still think that Fowler would put more chances away than cisse or crouch. And its not like we aren't creating chances, we just need someone to finish them off.

Couldn't agree more.
I am still amazed that Cisse looked absolute class in France (and it's not a bad league) and he has electric pace... yet he just can't seem to flourish in the Premiership. I don't understand, he seems to have all the right characteristics.

When I say Fowler back to liverpool I mean that on the radio last night a Times journalist was saying the biggest transfer story of the year would be in the sun. Within 10 mins Fowler was going to liverpool and sherringham back to spurs. God knows where either story came from.

Cisse does have one charachteristic against him, he's a **** and I'm a liverpool fan. He has everything he needs to be henry without the creativity. But he's trying so hard to be an idiot he's forgotton how to play football. I have seen him in Frodsham in his hummer, he told a group of youg kids to **** off when they asked for his autograph. His shining personality comes out on the pitch often too!
He has the odd flourish, but never 90minutes. If there is someone who can finish and is proven to be up there witht the best in the finishing and brains dept its morientes. But he cant seem to get the nac of the premiership either.

I have a lot of respect for Sheringham and to be still playing at 39 is incredible in the Premiership. It is tragic the way Fowler has turned out, I hated him during his early Liverpool career because he always scored against us, but that didn't stop me from admiring him as a player. When did it all go wrong for him? I'd say the same about Lee Sharpe as well, class player when first on the scene for us, then Ferguson got rid of him for being a lad and going out drinking all night. In many ways he was a better player than Giggs but no commitment to football.
