January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

2 guarantees in every transfer deadline day; a player in a helicopter and Harry Redknapp doing an interview leaning out of his car window.

And on Harry's interview; how could he keep a straight face through all of that. He was lying through his teeth.

edit: I should have said, 'reports of a player in a helicopter'. I suspect if a helicopter landed at Melwood, Sky's cameras might have caught a glimpse of it.

#MUFC have issued a hands off warning to clubs interested in Howard Webb. #deadlineday

What ever happened to the good ole' days when I club wouldn't sell any of there players to a rival!?

Those days seem to be long gone, and have been for a number of years. Is a very sad state of affairs when there is very little loyalty left in the game :(

If Torres has his heart set on leaving, then let him go. Just massively disappointed that he didnt give us more notice, especially since he claims to love the club so much. I think that Chelsea must have been tapping him up for a while :(

Ahhh well.

The man wants to win things, this is understandable. Just hope that the money raised from his sale is not wasted on anyone useless or stupidly over priced.

To a degree, players cant win these days though. Leave and fans complain that the player has no loyalty, stay and other fans complain that the player has no ambition.

I will LMAO when Torres goes today, as I wonder how long it will take them to rip down the poster they have at Anfield.

I imagine it will be gone by midnight.

:D

Moyes on SSN just now - We haven't been unlucky. I'd be very surprised if there was any activity. No bid today for Neville.

And **** me he looked so depressed!! That was horrible to watch!

If the club are taking UEFA's financial fair play regulations seriously, we might have to spend the Torres money this window.

As of the summer coming, over the next 3 years UEFA say clubs can only spend a combined total of €45m more than their profit on transfers.

So for example, if our owners were willing to give the club that €15m per season anyway, we then wouldn't be able to spend the Torres money as well as that. In which case, we might be more willing to pay slightly ott this window.
From the sounds of things that 30mil story was put out there by Newcastle. Maybe they want to start an auction?

It's pretty certain that we bid for Carroll but like you say, the size of the bid appears to have been talked up by Newcastle.
