January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

There's no way a £50m player will fail a medical. However, it could just be not getting it done in time that could hinder the deal.

If Liverpool pay way over the odds in a panic to get Torres' replacement, then find out Torres isn't going anywhere anyway, it'll seem a bit of a blunder on their parts. Of course the fans would accept having both...

It could fail it....They might see his groin & hamstring on the scans & think...Nar it to much of a risk as they could always go again

True but Newcastle fans will hate him regardless due to his past actions.

Yeah, what a horrible man, preventing Newcastle from going into administration and you know, potentially ceasing to exist altogether due to massive massive debt.

THen Ashley did the sensible thing, rebuilt the squad, over time, on a sensible budget, massively reducing debt, getting rid of the dead weight a couple of previous managers had laden on the club, getting rid of an epically useless manager even Blackburn fired, whose assistant at Blackburn has the club playing better football.

You can't really turn down that much money for Carroll, Carroll MAY get 20 goals a year for a decade, or he could get 5 goals a year for 2 years and drop out of football due to injury, who knows. Thats the risk when getting players, thats life. He might turn out to be a steal at 35mil, or a rip off at 2million, who knows.

As for whoever it was insisting players should be forced to see out their contracts, if Torres saw out the next 2-3 years, however long his deal is, playing badly, being moody, doing nothing, at the end of his contract he'd be worth NOTHING, 50million now, or nothing in a couple years of a moody Torres, I know which I'd take.

Torres out, Carrol in for 35m?

Im quite happy with Carroll i wont judge any player for what they done outside of football as many players would have zero respect. I was just asking to see other peoples views As few of my friends support Newcastle and dislike him allot. I support liverpool so what Ashley does is upto him.

We all know Torres is likely to go and has been moody for last few months but he is still proven world class

Why am I not suprised to see DM backing up Mike Ashley? :p

It's like he derives sexual pleasure from being contrary to prevailing opinion...

I know he was :)

I'm not trying to compare Adam to Barnes, I'm not that stupid, but he at least has a decent left foot on him.

We need a winger though. Carroll is a decent player and has the potential to be a very good player but we're paying the price he'd cost if he'd already reached his potential, and we've not even got a winger in our squad.
