yes. as a united fan, i understand why you feel he isn't. his overhead shin kick still running strong in the mind it would seem. other than that, what's he done that's so special? i'd rather balotelli upfront than rooney, may not track back as much but he's a far more gifted player.

Rooney would be City's biggest name by virtue of the fact he is English, I think you're underestimating the sway that has on the media and average fan (not to mention the huge **** storm such a move would bring, which I call the Tevez effect).
the only thing the media are interested in, is tripping him up!

Rooney might not be as flashy or as noticeably good as Messi/Ronaldo, but he is easily world class. His overall play is insane.
Anyway, on rumours - Spurs want Dembele and rumours of a £10m bid including Krancjar. I think Spurs had a £10m bid rejected last January for him, IIRC. His contract ends next season though, so for us that'd be our most important signing in getting him a longer deal.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Get a grip Biz. In his best season to date Balotelli has scored 11 goals and averages 1 goal per 2.71 games, Rooney is 1 goal per 2.35 games including the two seasons he played at Everton. Should also add he has scored a really average goal in the Champions League final, something that is always the mark of a really average footballer.
Balotelli is a good player but he has a lot to prove yet.

What happened to all the rumours linking Podolski to Arsenal

Doesn't have to prove anything to me, i think he is a top player already.

Forums tend to be very black and white, and we are all guilty of stirring things a bit but I can't imagine someone saying Rooney is average with a straight face.

You just reminded me, Biz was trying to convince us what a world class player Gazza Bazza is but then says Rooney is average. You couldn't make it up.
Of course you're allowed an opinion. However you're in no position to whine like a **** when somebody disagrees with your opinion, when the exchange began with you mocking their opinion.
For what it's worth, while I don't think Rooney is as good as some think, I'd certainly say he's better than Balotelli and I can't stand Rooney.
