Well Fergie's always said Ronaldo is the only player he'd ever spend 60m on so if Real are willing to make a loss and if Fergie is true to his word....

Viva Ronaldo

where have you heard this?

The very unlikely source of "the daily fail"

Im not saying it is true, as apparently he had a jog in training and it "went" as they like to say, considering we dont really know how long Sandro and Gallas are out for yet I doubt we know about king before them.

So they probs heard he felt it a bit and that becomes SEASON ENDING INJURY FOR SPURS' KING!

dawsons back i think (not sure whether this is good or bad) but i have been impressed with kaboul recently though i'd prefer him partnered with king than dawson or gallas. could make samba more likely but i'm not completely sold on him tbh

Just recall Steven caulker from loan, he has proved himself ready. I know he has only played 10 or so games for Swansea due to injury at the start of the season but I'm sure most Swansea fans will say he is quality.

Im not sure we are able to as terms of the loan, ive been keeping an eye on him, future England CB I believe

If we end up selling Ba for anything less than 30million then It isn't worth it.

I've seen quotes from Happy Harry claiming that Ba's buyout clause is less than £7m.

On a side note, you've got to love Redknapp. If he's not talking about another teams player, he's claiming he doesn't like talking about other teams players :o

Oh and for a man that claims not to know anything about Spurs transfer dealings/wages, he seems to know everything about every other teams players and transfer dealings.

Think Ba came out and said he going no where this transfer window but would like a move to psg later on.

The problem with buy out clauses is, as Utd know, if you're interested in buying and an agent has told you the buy out clause, you aren't allowed to know it so keep your mouth shut and offering to match it to the pound is retarded.

It's really why buy out clauses should be odd numbers, hell, call it £10,000,001 instead of 10mil, either the club offer you the exact amount and its obvious as hell they know the buyout clause, or you offer a less obvious amount like £10.5 or £11mil, so you get extra money, win win :p

With the greatest respect to Newcastle, I'd be very surprised if a bigger club were to come in for him with an offer to double or treble his wages, that he'd still be a Newcastle player at the end of the window.

The saving grace for Newcastle is his knee injury. I've heard people talk as if his knee could give way at any minute, which would be very worrying to any buying club.

You managed to get him on a free and on decent personal terms due to the lack of interest because of the injury concerns. Any club coming in for him now would have to pay you some sort of fee and he's likely to be able to command far better personal terms. How many clubs would want to risk any significant amount of money (both transfer fee and wages) on a player if his knee really is as bad as some say?

He won't leave in January surely, he's at the acon for a start, he's only been there 6 months, and another 6 months of good form in the Prem could make him even more money in the summer.

Indeed. I think this is all caused by his agent to get a pay rise. Not that he does not deserve one.

I think Newcastle policy is at the moment players have to earn a payrise within their wage structure.

From what I understand is Ba knee is degrading and there come to a point he wont be able to play football.

His performances justify a pay rise but his injury situation mean it's only sensible that he's on a heavily weighted appearance related deal.

Giving him any sort of contract was a gamble but the gamble has paid off. It hasn't with Marveaux though :p

:D
The few times i seen Marveaux play he was quality. Shame really, was always getting an assist and think he scored 1 goal.

Fulham rumours;

According to some Italian paper(s) we are set to sign Lorenzo Di Silvestri from Fiorentina for €5m - if true that's a great deal. I'd kind of rather Nathaniel Clyne though.

Set to sign Nicky Maynard - according to bookies anyway, 8/11 for us to sign currently.

Be happy if they both come off, though!

Clyne is massively over rated ;) his positioning was so poor it was laughable! The only thing that made up for his performance was his pace and the fact that he's small so he can get away with aggressive tackles. Wont stand a chance in the prem yet (and having the usual hype for being english)

Maynard is a bit meh too, fast and can stab at the ball but unless he's less than 2m any price over that is too much seeing as he's out of contract in the summer (plus he does seem to end up offside quite a bit). Not nearly as good as Andrew Johnson in my eyes...

Maynard can be brilliant but is a bit too high maintenance, totally off the boil this season probably due to his contract situation but can win you games on his own (at champ level anyway) see Bristol's win at Leicester earlier in the season in which he single handedly won the game pretty much.

It's not bickering

I'm genuinely interested what you've seen of Balotelli that's helped you come to the conclusion that he's a far better player than Rooney? Or is this like when you said Jones was a waste of money and we should sell him now?

Rooney>Balotelli

Jones? Jury is still out on that one. The more you come to expect from him, the worse he performs.
