Carroll having a reputation for his off-field antics is completely different to a player continually requesting transfers, refusing to play and then going awol.

Look at how Dalglish handled the Torres situation. He didn't want to be at Liverpool so was shipped out and Dalglish made it clear that nobody is bigger than the club and if they don't want to be here they can go.

As above, Tevez couldn't be further from the type of player that Dalglish wants at Liverpool

Really? I thought I remembered Liverpool trying their hardest to keep Torres.
Telling Torres look we have money to spend now after buying suarez.
Torres forced the move

No, Torres only handed in a transfer request as an ironic joke because Liverpool were so desperate to get rid of him. The delusion of Liverpool fans is fantastic. :p

I would happily have Tevez at Liverpool in place of Carroll. Especially for him to score the winner in our next drubbing of a Manchester based club that's due in a fortnight.

this is probably liverpool working an angle to try and get newcastle interested and bring ba into the equation. tevez is trouble but would have more success at liverpool that carroll has.

laughably handled by liverpool as it's unlikely anything will happen ... oh, other than completely destroy the confidence of their 35m flop and confirm what everybody but liverpool fans would admit, he has not lived up to expectations and they have no faith in him ever reaching the expectation.

the carroll/tevez swap is concrete. well done liverpool, brilliant. what do you make of that, purdy?

lol

O'rly? where is the proof its more then just the media printing crap, which is highly likely when you see where it originated from.

No, he handed in a transfer request so that he was no longer entitled to his cut of the transfer fee. Same with Meireles.

He wanted to leave in the summer but the club wouldn't let him. He wanted to leave in January and he was allowed to despite it being hugely beneficial in terms of FFP for him to be sold in the summer instead.

The ignorance of Utd fans is fantastic :p

edit: and where did I suggest Liverpool were desperate to get rid of him? You're not making things up to suit your argument are you?

No, but it's not shipping a player out if they wanted to leave anyway. It's not like Torres was performing badly and Dalglish wanted him out; the player wanted to leave and Liverpool couldn't really prevent it.

It's a bit like "I quit!" "Well you can't quit because you're fired!" in an attempt to save face. I just think it's misleading to suggest you let him go because the reality is you couldn't stop him - only City can afford to exile one of their players.

Maybe you've misunderstood what I meant because of the term "shipped out". Nobody is disputing that Torres wanted to leave, I said he wanted to leave in my post. However, there was no big fight to keep him. We could have forced him to stay just like we did in the summer but we didn't.

As I said, Dalglish made it clear several times, if a player is not committed to the cause then he can leave. This is why I can't see Dalglish ever signing a player with Tevez's attitude.

edit: I don't think there are many managers in this country that would sign Tevez in fact.

What are you on about, Most liverpool fans me included and some here have realised he hasnt lived up to the expectations, I just dont think we play to his strengths and he doesnt suit us and we dont suit him but i dont think he is a terrible player he just wont be the number one man for us and the team wont be based around him like it was at Newcastle
