The worst thing about TS is, when driving and you hear them either claim a transfer as an 'exclusive reveal' or ' according to our sources' ..

Then you get home, check, and find the story originated from goal.com
 
There's an article on Carroll in tomorrow's Times including a quote from Liverpool saying that the City and Newcastle stories are "fundamentally and categorically just not true". There are also quotes from Carroll stating that he loves it at Liverpool and that he feels he's just getting into his stride.

I assume other newspapers will be running similar stories seeing as these quotes are from the AP.

edit: and the ever so reliable Mirror are reporting that we now want Tevez on loan. They must have seen my post above.

City have said though they've got no interest in loaning Tevez anywhere, even to clubs who said they'd follow a loan up with a purchase in the summer. Presumably this is because City know once a club has Tevez on loan the idea of actually keeping him will be a lot less appealing :p
 
That's just weird. Makes you wonder how football clubs go about their transfers. The other day in the press conference Moyes said he didn't know anything about the Bily transfer all that he was out of the building, and would be having a medical in a day or two.

Especially at Liverpool for example with Damien Comolli seemingly the one getting players for Kenny. I wonder if Abramovich just sits playing Fifa and Football Manager looking for players to buy.
 
It's been a pretty poor transfer window this January IMO unless something spectacular comes out of the woodwork in the next 24 hours or so.

He did buy Lukaka :p


A few days left for us to bring in 1 or 2 hopefully. Hopefully Cerci and someone like Chivu.

We are lacking real pace down the wings and although Nasri/Silva are doing a good job they aren't wingers. Cerci has pace and is a dedicated winger. We are also lacking at CB as highlighted when both Kompany and Kolo were out. Savic did ok but it was very unfair to play/judge him in these games as he is still young and learning.
Someone like Chivu would be perfect, experienced, can play all across the defence? and wont cost a bomb.

Who knows with us though i mean we signed Robinho inside a day a few years ago.

It would be interesting to know just how big a say Comolli and Dalglish have in our signings. On one hand I can't see somebody from Dalglish's background being told who we're buying but on the other hand, Comolli was brought in specifically by our owners and his approach is pivotal to our owners thinking.

I guess it all depends on Dalglish's willingness to trust Comolli because if he ever decided to flex his muscles, there would only be one winner.
 
Just said on SSN that Genk could have De Bruyne back on loan for the rest of the season and it's possible he'll go out on loan for the whole of next season as well some where.
 
Why don't they loan them to Sheffield Wednesday. We'd take Lukaku on loan for a season and a bit. Would do him the world of good.

Isn't it not because he signed but because they played him, stupidly, and therefore made him unavailable for loan because you can only play for 2 clubs within a certain period(6 months?) and he'd already appeared for his old club, then Chelsea. Had they not played him(iirc a short pointless sub appearance) I think he could have gone on loan, :p


Getting fairly late in the transfer window, Arsenal really haven't done what they needed which is, a CB, two fullbacks(first team ones), a DM, a AMC a winger and a striker :p
