January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

The way you go on about Hargreaves Frank, it's as if he won the CL on his own. He was a reasonable player - not as bad as some made out pre 2 games in the WC and not nearly as good as he was made out after that.

Anyway, Tony Barrett is reporting in tonight/tomorrows Times that talks to re-sign Tom Ince are at an advanced stage. Although the club never wanted to let him go, as I've said before, it seems an odd deal. He's doing well at Blackpool but looked out of his depth in our reserve side, despite playing with younger inexperienced players.
 
Newcastle need plenty of January signings.

We are now without Cabaye and Steven Taylor until February, and Tiote will be missing over christmas and new year due to ACN. Who does that leave to play in the middle of the park? Jonas Gutierrez aka waste of space...

Tom Ince is a real odd one, he didn't stand out when playing with the reserves but has done really well at blackpool. I can't see him going into the `1st team or who he would displace on the subs bench either.

Must admit I'm quite scared that this is the level of player we'll be looking at in the january transfer window to address our atacking problems.

I've not watched much of him since he's left (although he's supposed to be doing very well) so it's difficult to say too much but I would be tempted to guess that he's going to offer us more than Cole or Downing coming off the bench and be considerably cheaper than either of those.

The talk is that we're after up to 3 players in January so assuming he's coming in to bulk up the squad/replace other squad players and we'll be signing others, I don't see too much of an issue there.

You're assuming he can get rid of those 2 though, I have my doubts. Besides, it's not squad players we should be looking at, its 1st teamers, guys that can go into the 1st 11.
 
Whether we can get shot of them in January or not until the summer (or even after), as long as he's an improvement on them then that's all that matters.

And hopefully we're going to be bringing in another attacker or 2 that could go straight into the first team.
 
How is that great news? He was barely more than a passenger when he joined us last year. The fact we might resort to playing him again just shows how shockingly bad we are this season.

Tbh i dont see the point in him coming back for us, hes well past it now. Ok last season when he was with us, he scored a couple of goals but its a bit like the Beckham thing going on at the moment ie clubs wanting to sign a player whose well past it.

Saying that though, it would be nice to see Henry back. I know he has a lot of love for the club ie hes been seen at the Emirates a few times when we have played.

If anything perhaps he can give some confidence to some of our players. But him being there wont solve our shoddy defence nor will he score 10 goals+ for us.

From that article, take it with a pinch of salt:p it seems like Huntelaar and Zaha of Crystal Palace could be on their way to the Emirates. Does look likely that Henry will be coming back to play for us on loan as well.

Also looks like Chamakh could be on his way out in Jan with Fenerbache offering him an escape route.

You might want to edit that link as the story has a few choice words.

Im not saying we are going to sign the guy, i dont believe a lot of the stuff in the media myself especially when its pertaining to Arsenal but the title of the thread does say rumours/signings;).

Personally i think our attack is fine as it is...its our defence especially LB position that needs to be fixed and maybe a DM as well. Thats where i think we need to improve our squad because at the moment, we arent gelling as a unit offensively or defensively...defensively is a real real issue.

As for Zaha, hes a good player but i cant see him coming to Arsenal especially when Crystal Palace will want to cash in on him. We all know just how expensive english players can be ie Andy Carrol is one example. Crystal Palace will probably want £20mill+ for him, whether they get it is another question and i dont honestly think Arsenal will spend that much on someone , who could very well be a flop in the EPL.

I think signing Henry on loan again is a full gone conclusion and I can't wait. Who else do we have to play up front? Chamakh?? Gervinho?? Henry now is still tiwce the player than those put together (not sure how that works). I think we should go in for Beckham as well. Imagine henry on the left, Giroud down the centre and Beckham on the right. Giroud would score a bizillion goals each game from beckham crosses.

We won't sign huntelaar. We don't go for proven strikers. We'll get some young nigerian prodigy based on him being tall and fast.

Meh, we're going to get relegated anyway so doesn't matter who we sign
