January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

Falcao would be a good buy for Chelsea irrespective of what happens with Torres, at the end of the day they've only got 3 strikers:

-Sturridge: Decent player but very greedy and should only be bench material for the Champions of Europe

Surely he's good enough for the 5th best team in England though?

Sun with a story today suggesting Arsenal are going to offer 8mil + Theo for Sterling, would be hilarious.

Its embarrassing, in some interview Wenger is saying he's fed up, knows the fans are fed up, he speaks with Walcott every day but doesn't discuss contracts every day.

He isn't living on the other side of the planet to Walcott, if you want ot sorted it, get him in a room, and talk, if you can't come to a decision move on already and sell him. This time wasting rubbish of maybe he'll completely change his mind next week is nonsense. What planet is he living on, Walcott's lowest salary he'll take point will be based purely off the offers he'll of had from other clubs if he goes there next year. if say Liverpool have told him on the sly they'll give him 90k a week, why would he take less at Arsenal, if Arsenal aren't offering it, they won't get him, if the contracts going nowhere, why pay him for a year to barely play when we could have sold him.

Complete waste of time and money for this fictional situation where agents don't talk to other clubs secretly, and players have no idea what they can get elsewhere so might cave and take less cash.... its not going to happen, more proof Wenger is living in some fantasy land that has no bearing on reality.

He thinks Walcott will magically take less than he wants and has been offered elsewhere, he thinks his absolute failures over the past 8 years will reverse themselves under FFP... other teams have to spend less.... therefore our defensive problems will be magically fixed.... he's a deluded idiot.

Anyway, I'd take Sterling, he's got infinitely more ability than Walcott as a winger already and the potential to maybe become really good, Walcott is a dead end, tap in artist, sure, effective in that role, maybe, good footballer, never, in a million years never.

Hernandez has actually improved in only 2 years training with better coaches, a better team and in a better league.... Walcott hasn't improved one iota in 5 years, crucially doesn't think he needs to, and puts in less effort than almost any other player I've ever seen in the premier league.

However one wants to phrase it, for a club with Chelsea's resources he shouldn't be starting games. The Manchester clubs seem to be the only ones with a good strikeforce (in terms of a couple of top ones with decent backup).

No doubt Drunkenmaster will say Theo played atrociously this afternoon as well?

Only a matter of time:p

Saying that i thought Theo had a pretty decent game all round, was making things happen down the left side with his pace. Just a shame his first touch always lets him down but meh he bagged a goal so the more better performances he has for us...the more likely he will hold out signing a new contract unless we give him what hes asking for.

Theo is a poor footballer without a brain, however he can be used effectively as a striker imo due to his pace. When the pace goes hes going to be useless however.

Problem is Wenger has forced him to play on the wing where he is useless, even he has said that he prefers to play through the middle.

Not really sure if he will stay or leave, Arsenal obv dont think hes worth what hes asking for iirc he wants £80k a week.

I would like to see sunderland sort out a permanent deal for Danny Rose who we have on loan from spurs..been really consistent.
Anything after that is a bonus!

I'm sure people forget the premium you pay for English players. 15m is about right for Sturridge, he's still young, has potential, is very good on his day albeit he's looked iffy this season he's not exactly given regularly starts nor playing in a position he wants to play in.
