January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

It is indeed fun watching you try to justify the equality between playing for Colombia and Uruguay...

I know right, on one hand you have a country with 50 million people and the other hand a country with 3 million people...

I would be quite happy to compare Suarez's international goal scoring record against any player in world football right now

Do you think that Suarez just one of those players that performs better at international level then? Or is it that the rest of the Liverpool team is holding him back at domestic level?

Team holds him back immensely from assisting a lot more, and scoring a few more (easier chances would be created, e.g. actual tap ins and not ones he has the oppurtunity to miss :p).

He also holds himself back from scoring at a club level which he can clearly do, or else they had wider goal posts in Holland.

Or, y'know, club football is generally an appalling standard in Holland with a couple of exceptions.

I didn't realise you'd offloaded Dirk Kuyt. I know he wasn't the most gifted of players but he was pretty good at busting a gut to get into the box and get on the end of the type of half chances that Suarez seems to create loads of. I'm sure he would've scrambled home most of the chances that Suarez creates that seem to be missed all the time by the other Liverpool players. Certainly a lot better than (for example) Downing anyway.

What has that got to do with Suarez putting the ball wide or hitting the post 9/10 times? Didn't realise playing in a worse league meant putting a shot on target was easier.

Surely you're joking.

I'm not joking. Whilst I don't think another club would pay something like £80m, it would take a bid of closer to that than £40m for Liverpool to consider selling in January.

Absoluely nothing to do with him being worth that or not.

£40m isn't even twice what we paid Ajax for him. He's now proven in the league and an even better player, on 3 or 4 times the wages.

Suarez definitely won't be sold in January unless Liverpool bring in about 3 other strikers lol. Summer however... he might end up being sold, who knows?

As Shami points out, competent defenders make it harder for strikers to hit the target?

Not really when he consistently misses sitters in the box with no defender to get by or 1 on 1s with the keeper?

Competent defenders make it harder for the striker to hit the target if he isn't already past them, which 9/10 times he is.

For Uruguay he's mostly played with Forlan, Cavani, or both. With Liverpool he's mostly played with...

Moyes has said that they'll be no money available in January.

Come one come all!! Fellaini, Baines, Jagelkia ... take your pick!

Loads of media cack starting about Falcao to Chelsea.
Whilst I think he'd be a vast improvement on what we currently have I can't see RA taking that sort of financial risk again especially after what he's shelled out already this year.

I think he's someone you need. He would make Chelsea a real force.

It will be City next week.

Falcao would be awesome for any team in the prem even ours (City). It would mean the end of Balotelli and Dzeko however which would be disappointing. He will join the team that will start him every game as Falcao will want to start every game, I heard he goes crazy when he gets taken off for Athletico.

Chelsea have the pull of being in London also which has swayed many a player.

Well, if you get him we'll have Dzeko ;)
He won't be able to play every game if he goes to a club that competes for every honour going so he'll have to adapt to that.

Read somewhere today that RA has more or less given up on Torres as he just isnt scoring goals like he used to.

Dont know if its true, could be rumours but i wouldnt put it past RA or City to put a bid in him for him to come here.

Falcao would be a good buy for Chelsea irrespective of what happens with Torres, at the end of the day they've only got 3 strikers:

-Torres: Good player but hasn't shown his best form at Chelsea
-Sturridge: Decent player but very greedy and should only be bench material for the Champions of Europe
-Lukaku: Out on loan and hasn't quite lived up to the hype yet.

Kinda weird this season there are 3 clubs with ambitions of qualifying for Europe (Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool) who are very light on strikers, I think he'd be a good buy for any of them (also Llorente).
