Remy won't be that good anyway...

I think De Ridder was good on FM10 or 11, after that he is just pace and wasting time (just like real life). Shame as he tore up the Dutch 2nd division.
 
Didn't Falcao move for 30mil from Porto and has since won the Europa league again, done better goal wise in a better league, overall goals in both competitions went up and this year he's got 18 goals in 17 games, significantly better than the previous 4 seasons. Essentially his value should have only gone up, but conversely it also sounds like he might want to move up to the big leagues and play for a title contender. He's said he doesn't want to leave till summer though, they have a great shot for a third Europa in a row and getting Athletico into the champs league means money and huge help for the club that spent big on him, I basically can't see him leaving now, nor for less than 40-45mil when he does go.

If Arsenal jump in at 30mil, we'll just get laughed at when the 4-5 other clubs all go way higher and we can't afford to.

THe big problem with Arsenal bidding 30mil is, at this stage of the window, its someone no one else is willing to spend 30mil on.... which is not a good sign, or its just some other player we'll likely get into a bidding war over. A defender/keeper, can't see it, a central mid, maybe a big bid for either someone like Gotze or even a De Rossi, a striker? We desperately need a striker but what 30mil striker is available that one of the other teams won't be interested in.

Same here, Wenger said it a few yrs ago that hes willing to spend £30mill on a player but as of yet he hasnt. So either hes talking out of his arse as usual or he cant spot a £30mill player anymore.

Its no wonder RVP left last summer, he knew that Wenger and Arsenal arent going to spend all that cash on a player or a few players to improve our squad tenfold.

And the waters are a bit muddy when it comes to Spanish buyout clauses and foreign clubs. Spurs hit a Spain-based player's buyout clause a couple of years ago and the club refused to accept it.
