January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

Yep those lot are real world class players:p...who knows they might have been had Wenger given them proper chances and not dropped them so suddenly when they had a few bad games.

Im beginning to think the sooner Wenger goes, the better for us. At least with a new manager, he can start clearing out the deadwood currently rotting our club from the core.

Denilson had more than enough chances. He was dog **** :p

I think at this point look forward to a Liverpool style minimum few years of crud, manager turn over and fans turning on the manager over and over again. Liverpool had a bunch of overpaid useless tat that is taking time to get rid of, with several still there, and without the wage budget/transfer money that City/Chelsea have to just get rid of players they don't want, their efforts to rebuild will take years, as it will for Arsenal. Every transfer window, every season is a year Wenger ties down half the useless squad to be dead weight around the neck of the next manager.

Some of these guys can be got rid of, some not, if we sign Walcott, that is 100k a week a new manager can't spend on a proper footballer, Gibbs, Ramsey, Santos, Diaby, Djourou and plenty of others. I do think we have some genuinely brilliant footballers, Wilshire is fantastic, Arteta is very good, Verm is very very good and I think Kos(without Sagna alongside him) will turn out to be very good. 3-4 years ago, we had 4-5 players that needed to go and 3-4 top players would make the team title worthy, today though.... its just an entirely different story. I still think only a few top players would change how good the first team is, but to be pushing for Europe and the title again we need to replace the majority of the backup as well as adding those 3-4 top notch players to the first team.

Skysports: Liverpool are reported to be keen on Wesley Sneijder and they have now been made aware of how much it would cost them to take the Inter Milan playmaker to Anfield. Galatasaray, who remain locked in transfer talks with the Dutchman, have revealed that they tabled a £6.2million bid.

I don't get it, why isn't there more interest in him? He was hot property 18months ago with £30m transfer fees being touted. Now at £6.2m - that's an unbelievable drop in value over the last year. I guess wages would be an issue for many clubs, but still, surely he's worth a punt at that money! Is there more to it then the general public know. I wonder?

Attitude and wages.

He's on 120k/w, wants more, inter said LOLNO pay cut, no club wants to touch a player with that attitude.

I don't know an awful lot about it but Inter expected him to take a 2mil paycut didn't they? That's about 40k a week a 3rd of his wage and he was their star player... I understand his frustrations tbh.

But if they are trying to push him out because of attitude as you say then fair enough, it's working !

Exactly - from the rumours (whether they are believable or not.....) its been the wages he demanded to go to Utd that stopped any deal happening 3 or 5 transfer windows ago.

At that point the attitude seemed good - but since then its reported to have taken a massive nose dive.

Of course now Utd have RvP - and some rumours suggest him and Sneijder still dont get on. Other sites seem to suggest they have made peace but who knows

He's supposedly on 120k a week at inter AFTER tax, which is 43% there, so really 200k a week, and he's barely done a thing at the club since he signed that new contract.

2mil off his wages would be 160k a week, after tax 96k, still a hefty pay cut, but for a player who isn't performing, is injured, lazy and has been crap when he has played since he signed the contract... who knows. Its unreasonable, because they gave him the contract, could have simply not offered him a daft contract after the Champs league win but it was their choice to do so. However, asking him to move on isn't exactly out of order, he can always say no, if he's happy to get his money and not play, whatever, plenty of other players do that at other clubs. If he can get similar money elsewhere and is happy to go, whatever.

The fact that so few clubs have jumped at the chance to offer him a deal when his transfer fee is barely £6million should suggest what wages he's asking for in the prem league. If it was 80-120k loads of teams would have taken a punt on him already.

I was under the impression the wage cut was inline with performance/squad status, neither of which are "key player here's everything you want" material now he's been there a bit.

That's the only way I can explain the reactions since the contract talks since september (bad attitude towards training followed by being frozen out the first team).

Neither party look clever or professional but the writing is on the wall from the players side, teams aren't jumping at the chance to pay him loads to play for him, hinting he's not as good as he thinks he is but isn't willing to admit it... (or something equally as silly)

That and his abysmal injury record.

Plus the fact he simply isnt good enough to command the wages he is after.

Forgot about the injury record. But yeah pretty much, not quite the player he is paid to be.

Having seen Sniejders voting slip, i think they made love not war.

Let me put it another way.

If Sneijder was Chinese, or Japanese, UTD would have bought him already.

6m for wesley sneijder looks even more of a good option right about now after the Fletcher news. But if there is any truth to the RVP feud then obviously not such a great idea!

Victor Valdes has told Barca he isn't going to sign a new contract and wants to leave in 2014

I am assuming they will try and go for De Gea because Pinto is awful and De Gea would be a natural fit.
