January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

You literally know nothing about Sere A and the Turkish league.
I don't know a great deal about Italian football but I do know Italy accounts for 83.2% of all brown envelope sales in the world, a number of Italian referees feature on the Forbes 100 rich list and the bald bloke from Football Italia now presents Worlds Strongest man.... Goallllllllllllllllllllllllllllll Lazio.

Whilst I don't mind the idea of us signing countinho I'm kind of sick of us going for the potential players what we need now is more experienced players.
Remember he was rated quite highly when he moved to Inter but haven't really kept track of his progress. We certainly need someone to play as the AM though because Shelvey and Suso aren't up to scratch yet and we need goals from midfield.

Well done. You really showed me how the Serie A is not competitive.

Just to clarify. Its not the refs being bought, its the players.

Seriously, don't say stuff you have no idea about.

Yeah which to me there two potentials so I don't see why we need a third though I see shelvey being more a cm tbh

The articles a load of crap but I'm so tired of hearing about De Gea. Every minor mistake he makes there's speculation in the paper and pundits berating him.

It's a joke because if he didn't make the save from Dempsey's one on one or Bale's deflected shot but did punch the ball clear in ET, the net result would be the same but he wouldn't come in for stick. No keeper is perfect but papers get the most mileage out of De Gea, presumably because a) he's young and b) not English.

Vidic made the biggest contribution to Spurs' equaliser by getting in the way of De Gea and not clearing the ball and Evra followed the ball rather than Lennon. If either of them did their jobs, they wouldn't have scored. Argh.

Gary Nev disagrees.

Poor punch you either come to win it or stay not go in half hearted.

arry at it again trying to buy moussa sissoko a long term Newcastle target.

Has stated he prefers Newcastle but am sure that will change once he gets offered double the wage

Newcastle will compete the signing of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Massadio Haïdara tomorrow for a combined fee of 8.6 mill

Hmm a left back and a very versatile defender mainly cb

People are far too critical, its daft, another keeper might be better at coming for corners, but a much worse shot stopper so the 10 goals a season you save from better punching from corners, is lost by the 10 goals you lose from a worse shot stopper.

For me the fundamental first thing a keeper needs to be good at is shot stopping, punching, distribution most other things are secondary, a great bonus, but if he ain't a great shot stopper, what the hells the point.

He's one of the best shot stoppers around, that alone makes him a pretty damn good keeper, weaker at corners, possibly, possibly not, all keepers and all players make mistake, goal keepers mistakes cost goals more often than any other player, doesn't mean non make them. Casillas makes plenty of mistakes, he's not perfect, yet one of the best around.

Even if you prefered QPR and London, why on earth would you say anything but you prefer Newcastle, you'll almost certainly increase the offer you get from QPR. Remy might have wanted to go to QPR the whole time for all we know, when there is stupid money involved, leave them hanging and desparate to get you and get a bigger offer.

Casillas has always been nothing but a stopper. He doesn't even keep hold of it, he just gets away with it the vast majority of the time

Which is sweet if you actually get rid. Come flapping like a confused chicken and accidents are bound to happen.

For the record I rate De Gea and I think he will only get better, but at the mo he is young and will make some mistakes as he learns. To cut him adrift now would be silly IMO.

Coutinho to Liverpool appears to be edging closer. This morning the Liverpool Echo reported that although a fee hasn't yet been agreed, we were very confident that a deal will be sorted in the next few days and similar stories are being reported tonight in the national press.

As I said the other night, I'd be a bit excited about us signing him purely based on the bits and pieces I saw of him a couple of years back. That said, I read a couple of articles on him over the last day or so and one of the reasons put down as to why he's never really established himself at Inter was because he's struggled to adapt to the physical nature of Serie A. While defenders over here won't be as cynical as in Italy, they're likely to be just as, if not more physical which is a bit of a concern.

That used to be my view but it can't have been down to luck all this time. The more I've watched him over the years the better I've viewed him.

Well that's where Nev and I disagree. Foremost, he did come for it but Vidic's block took away his momentum. His punch wasn't that bad either, certainly if Evra had stayed with his man then there wouldn't have been a problem. I just find it hilariously unfair that a number of our players failed to do their jobs at all but the only one that made a half decent attempt gets blamed.

And then as DM says, all keepers have some weaknesses and I'd say it's easier to improve their positioning and decision making than their shot stopping ability.

Yanga-Mbiwa to Arsenal

Haidara to Westham

moussa Sissoko to qpr

Whats this space

Whats the point in our great scouting Network if we fail to sign the players we want :D

Newcastle have been talking to him since the summer with rumors of a deal to join uson a free this summer. His club and boss don't want this so will force him to sign a new deal or sit on the bench or be sold. Qpr only moved for him now because the got beat at their own game on mvilla. There was no interest from QPR before he stated he wants to come to Newcastle

Looks like Mario is off :(

Typically it is a deal built up by all sorts but if we are guaranteed our money back then I can't see Txiki/Soirano not taking it.

No great loss to you to be quite honest, he's overpaid, overrated and clearly a PITA. You'd do well to get your money back for him.

As much as Welbeck gets pilloried at United, Balotelli has a similar goal return over the last couple of years, and he's on a bigger wage with a far worse attitude.

Balotelli was outstanding at times for Italy in the Euro's.

It's a real shame he hasn't been given more time on the pitch for Manchester City, he's a fantastic young talent.

If Milan can pick him up on ~cheap wages he could turn out to be a fantastic signing.

Just wait for Sky to treat him as another Forlan though, 'never good enough for the best league in the world blah blah, so he's not world class blah blah'

Balotelli's scoring record is a fair bit better isn't it :/

Not really, they both have one league goal this year while Welbeck has 3 assists to Balotelli's 0.

Last year Balotelli scored around 1 in 2, while Welbeck was 1 in 3 but that does include 3 penalties for Balotelli skewing it in his favour slightly (I know penalties are always a controversial subject when it comes to comparing goal scoring figures). The difference isn't as huge as their reputations would suggest and their shot to goal ratio (DM's favourite stat!) was similar.

Given City have spent close to £35m on Balotelli in transfer fee and wages by now, it's hard to say he's justified the outlay.

I think he is a loss tbh,
I know his goal record isn't fantastic but to see the best of him he needs to start every single game I think and he hasn't been given that chance which is surprising considering how much Mancini likes to go on about how good he might be.

Going into the 1-6 derby last year he had scored in all 4 games before it and then scored 2 in the derby. He then was on the bench for the Wolves game, he started against Villareal and he scored, on the bench again v Wolves and then it was an international break, he then started v Newcastle and Napoli and scored in both straight after. After that he scored 2 in 4 up to the Chelsea match, in three of those games he came on as a sub.

I know of course all players will go through scoring periods but I think it just shows that if he is given an extended run of games that he starts he does repay us with goals!

Unfortunately with the other forwards we have he won't be given this luxury and instead he will start against Wigan to rest someone else, he scores and puts in a good shift but then is dropped against Everton as Aguero/Tevez/Dzeko come back in.

I think when he goes to Milan he will start every game alongside El Shawaray and will realize his potential
