January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

To get back the 22m even in installments would be a great deal for City considering the even bigger pain in the backside he's become. Another player who will never achieve the things he should because he a thick ****. Such a shame because he should have been so much better and an awesome player to watch in the premiership but he lacks any form of discipline :(

I think he is a loss tbh

I dont see it, as a goal scorer from the bench Dzeko is obviously a better option, as a starter in games I've yet to really see a time where Balotelli and Aguero have looked a promising partnership (not like Aguero & Tevez or Aguero & Dzeko)

Balotelli is just the wrong kind of player to have in your squad if he's not first choice and as things stand he's arguably 4th choice at the moment and probably never going to be more than 3rd choice

He is a talent he proved that in the Euro's but if City can sell and get their money back then it's probably a worth while exercise to do, sell Tevez while you're at it as he hasn't looked at the races this season (and probably still doesn't want to be in England anymore anyway) and bring in 2 new strikers in the summer to supplement Aguero and Dzko

I disagree, I would rather play Balotelli than Dzeko.

Did Balotelli not supply the pass for the goal to win the league last season.

Well it seems every time Balotelli plays he is playing with someone else. Every partnership needs a run of games together to build up some chemistry. Tevez and Aguero have it because they start nearly every game together.

We aren't going to sell or be able to sell Tevez, besides he is being used in a deeper position which is why he hasn't scored a lot but he has quite a few assists and is heavily involved in the build up to goals.

It looks like Balotelli is off and I would also sell Dzeko. Bring in Falcao or Cavani or someone like that and when Tevez leaves in 2014 we bring back Guidetti as third choice. It gets more wages off the books and also we end up with two top strikers and a young lad who can rotate in.

Outside of the pass for Aguero he also scored some goals which if you look back now were crucial and you could say won us the title.
Penalty v Tottenham to win 3-2
Goals v Sunderland to draw 3-3

Wes Brown provided the cross for Ronaldo's goal in the CL final in 2009, didn't mean we needed to spaff our pants and give him 120k/week. ;)

No, but the point remains, he can link up with forwards but he's often played with a different team each time he's selected.

I don't think he's 'worth' that much money, but I don't understand the rush to get rid of him, he needs to play more and personally, (if I supported Manchester City) I'd rather keep him over Dzeko.

Balotelli can be great, he was VERY good for Italy, without question while Welbeck is a pile of poo. The difference is Balotelli has had multiple games where he's been brilliant, as well as multiple games where he's been useless, Welbeck has had a few games where he's been pretty good, and loads where he's useless.

ANyone that can watch both players and think they are of similar levels of ability is mental, however, Balotelli has all the other crap around him to think about, he's going to miss 3/4 of a season banned every year, he's going to be in jail for like 1/3 of his life most likely, he'll get at least 4 year long injuries after stupid house fires he starts himself for a joke, and he's going to be in court being sued for child support for another 1/3 of his life.

He's really not worth it, last year despite all that crap he got almost 50% more goals in the league, with circa 10% more shots, and he started 14 games compared to Welbeck's 23, he was used less, more inconsistently and frequently out of position(same is true for Welbeck to a lesser degree). If Balotelli was used more frequently this season, got a chance to get some form, and the team was better suited to him he'd have done better. Balotelli as a lone striker with two slow wingers who are a bit lazy and two midfielders who don't get forward much isn't the way to get loads out of him, he's not got Walcott pace to run in behind easily and he hasn't got Dzeko strength to win crap on his own. A lot of games he plays he's left pretty isolated due to the team setup.

He's better than he's showing, he's better than Welbeck, but he's not worth the aggro and he doesn't really suit the team City have, but if he stayed and started every game, he'd still do pretty damn well.

Or you could put it that in the league he scored four more goals (including 3 penalties) with 2 more shots than Welbeck rather than trying to massage the figures into something that sounds better. The fact that Welbeck picked up 3 more assists - or should I say 300% more?! - reflects that at times he played a deeper role than Balotelli too.

I don't disagree that Balotelli is a better player, but he's not that much better. Certainly not enough to justify the wages and transfer fees Balotelli is commanding, nor is he good enough to justify his attitude on and off the pitch.

I have always wondered what people see in Balotelli. He seems to be one of those that could miss 20 games score 2 goals in a season and people would still claim that he is a special talent.

He played well for Italy last year but it wasn't a stunning personal effort on his part. Any decent striker would have been expected to finish the chances he had.

Quite ridiculous that we have to be in this type of form for the club to invest. 6 months too late unfortunately.

Debuchy - Mbiwa - Colo - Santon

Not a bad back four. Colo needs to man up and see the season through.

Edit: Rumours that a 2nd bid has been made for Gouffran.

You'd hope so for the sake of 250k.
