Last year Balotelli scored around 1 in 2, while Welbeck was 1 in 3 but that does include 3 penalties for Balotelli skewing it in his favour slightly (I know penalties are always a controversial subject when it comes to comparing goal scoring figures). The difference isn't as huge as their reputations would suggest and their shot to goal ratio (DM's favourite stat!) was similar.

Given City have spent close to £35m on Balotelli in transfer fee and wages by now, it's hard to say he's justified the outlay.

Yes, I am comparing the two players but only insomuch as no one rates Welbeck and therefore he made a good benchmark. I expressly said that Balotelli was a better player but that he is disproportionately well regarded considering how he has performed.

Stop trying to bait people and stop trying to infer things that I haven't said.
 
Why is comparing two players funny unless you're trying to suggest that OMS thought Welbeck was as good as Balotelli? Which he clearly stated that he didn't. We've been through this with you before when somebody mentioned Xavi and Allen in the same sentence - you automatically/stupidly assumed he thought Allen was as good.

Jesus Christ, you're nuts. He used the stat to back up his opinion that Balotelli is overrated - while at the same time making it clear that he didn't think Welbeck was as good as him. What is hard to understand about that?
